I kept telling myself that my 95M was good enough and then I went and drove the 06 and was hooked. The power and handling cannot compare to the NA or NB Miata. The stereo and ergonomics helped a little also! My dealer was supposed to intercept an LE in transit but they messed it up. I found this one on autotrader. The dealer had sold the unit to themselves in October 05 and I picked it up in July 06. The car had not been titled and I arranged a dealer trade with my local dealer and drove a Mazda 3 to Kalamazoo, MI to pick up my car. I feel extremely fortunate to have number 90 of 3500 produced. I added the mud guards and spoiler. Not sure what other mods I will make, maybe some more brussed aluminum on the interior trim. I also bought a cool breeze scoop that is really cool...it is made for all Miata model years, check it out! Link to website below.  I also put on new tires in the summer of '09 at 12k miles due to a blow out from a pot hole.  I put on a set of Potenza RE-11s.  They stick to the road like glue, much better than the factory Michilen Precedas which are no longer made.  I also did some chrome trim to break up the black in the rear as you can see in a picture below.

Truthfully, I think the car is fine the way it is. I love the red leather interior. Most dealers opted to order the black leather because they was afraid the red would not sell. This should be a rare car down the road and will not be my everyday driver...even though it is hard to now drive it to work every day while the weather is nice!
