Pics from Volvo's 80th birthday party!

The Volvo booth: the last place you'd expect to see old ladies getting smashed.

I thought this guy might have some good info, but it turned out he was just a model showing off the 1927 Volvo PV4, "Jacob."

Oak wood spoke wheels, body finished in some kind of plastic material (not leather), only one in the US. The other two are in the Volvo museum in Sweden.

The very cool Ford Airstream concept. It runs on Li-Ion batteries, while a hydrogen fuel cell powers a generator that recharges the batteries while the vehicle is running. Total range of 225 miles, at speeds of up to 85 mph. Read John's blog on it from the North American Int'l Auto Show.

And no, it's not on fire. That's a "Dynascan" spinning LCD screen that rotates at 500 RPM using computer-synchronized rows of dots to create the illusion of a continuous, 360-degree image.
