"All I have to do is dream, dream, dream..."

Engine:

-Rebuild with cylinders bored .030 over
-This torque-enhancing but very streetable cam from Crane Cams.
-Water-heated intake manifold
-Header, adapted to accommodate transfer case
-Holley 4bbl
-I?m toying with the idea of converting to fuel injection with a Mopar Performance 4.2L multiport fuel-injection kit or a Redline/Clifford TBI system. Only if I win the lottery, though.

Body and Interior:

-I want to take my Eagle to Redi-Strip, put it in the dip tank, and get every iota of corruption off its salt-rusted unibody.
-Then it'll get zinc-phosphated for rust prevention, the whole body primed, and rust inhibitor shot inside the frame rails and any other hard-to-reach spots where moisture might creep in: inner panels, strut towers, etc.
-Weld up any holes in the floor and frame.
-Rear hatch will probably be replaced, as it's a junkyard item and is well on its way to being rusted beyond salvation. I'm pretty sure all the other panels are sound.
-I'll get rid of the stock plastic fender flares and graft in custom flares to accommodate bigger wheels.
SuzyBruisy's 1981 AMC Eagle-Candy paint. It's going to be metallic alligator green with a tan interior. Like this!

Hehe... okay, maybe more like this:

-I love the Eagle interior and it will remain basically stock (plus the column-mounted tach). I have a junkyard driver's seat that's in much better shape than my existing one; it will be swapped in (3/31/07: done!).
-I'm going to get a carpet set for it like the one I installed in my Escort. New carpet makes such a difference!

Jen, what a sweet ride you've got here. You hardly EVER see any of these anymore. I remember to police dept. in Bkackhawk and Central City, Colorado used to use one just like yours (same color) as their squadcar. Lots of snow in Clear Creek Canyon out there. Wanted to share a few links with you that I've ran across. You might find them both interesting. I sure did. Jen, I love your ride girl !!! http://www.lost-car-registry.com/main.html www.CrownMyCar.com

Hey dont knock a subaru the same year they made that amc the subara has had a dual range transfercase for years and the independent suspension was made for snow Amc was not cost effective to own and they still arent american either but they are very cool and I think a 318 747 465 swap would indeed do it justice dont forget the dana 44 and dana 60 and a 4 inch lift
