IBM-Tech's 1987 Chevrolet CamaroCyberdyne Digital Gages, B&M Shifter.. I am going to remove the Cyberdyne dash soon and replace with a Dakota Digital as I am having troubles with VSS signal to the ECM. I now know that Cyberdyne no longer supports their custom dash. Plus Dakota informed me they have a VSS box for their dash that will correct this problem.

IBM-Tech's 1987 Chevrolet Camaro Here is another view of the Intertior . You can see  on the far right side the 1227749  that I have to use to help control the boost. The car was originally equipped with a 1227165 ECM which means that I had repin the wiring harness to get rid of the (MAF) Mass Air Flow Sensor and put a (MAP)  Manifold Absolute Sensor in.

IBM-Tech's 1987 Chevrolet Camaro This picture is with the Cyberdyne digital dash. It used 1st year technology with LED's. I still get alot of comments from people that it is unique and to keep it. On the other hand it is old and I need to keep up with the times. I will explain why I opted to switch to Dakota Digital instead. The 1st generation dash from Cyberdyne didn't have cruise control technology. Once they knew how to fix that, I was told to remove the Speedo Cable and the VSS sensor behind the dash because there isn't room for it. This is when the problems started and I lost my TCC Lockup and also the ECM doesn't know how to handle accel or Decel. Dakota Digital has a box that does handle this..

IBM-Tech's 1987 Chevrolet Camaro These are two additional guages that I feel are necessary. When I removed the oil pan and transmission pan, I put a temp sensor in each so I could monitor the oil temp and transmission temp. I wanted to monitor temps, I might be able to shut down and help keep rebuild costs down. I still have to get the negative wire fixed on the oil temperature. Didn't notice this until after the picture was taken.

IBM-Tech's 1987 Chevrolet Camaro This is the start of my new style Dakota digital dash. You can see from the picture on the left that it contains VSS Signal box above the dash that I have been talking about.  It should take me about 2 hours for a full installation.

IBM-Tech's 1987 Chevrolet CamaroHere is the New Dakota Digital Dash installed into my Camaro. I has a very clean look and has alot more options available than the Cyberdyne ever thought about. There are a few programming routines that need to be completed but this will have to wait until summer time because you have to be able to drive it.

IBM-Tech's 1987 Chevrolet Camaro I have been asked several times why I have not gone to a better head set on the stereo. I have alwayys preferred the Pioneer Super Tuner 3 as my choice of units. This unit only plays AM/FM/CD/MP3 and Sirrus SAT. I have thought going to DVD but honelsty don't spend enough time in the car to watch movies.

IBM-Tech's 1987 Chevrolet Camaro Here is the heart of the sound system. You can see the 12" Cerwin Vega-Vega's, On the Right is a Kenwood KAC X621 Amp, On the Left is an Sony X-Plode Amp. I have plans in the very near future to get another Kenwood amp. For some reasons, The X-Plodes are doing just that.. X-ploding!!!! You can see below the 1" thick plexiglas the Nitrous Bottle which is kept in a bottle heater blanket. This entire subwoofer system is removed before track time and replaced with a solid ABS plastic wall.

IBM-Tech's 1987 Chevrolet CamaroI finally installed a WB02 sensor in the left header bung on the Hooker 2210 supercomp's.  This picture was taken at idle with the temp at approx 145 Farenheit. I mounted the A/F Meter in the A pillar on the drivers side. You can see that I am really close at 14.7 at idle. I have been able to drive it but it still needs alot of driving time.
