Here are some pics of rust spots i been trying to fill and think i did a pretty good job expecially for it to be my first time doin it! :)
those 2 i jus did out of the blue, took me a while to do it due to the fact im in MI and its cold as ever right now and i used sheet metal cutter to cut out the rusted metal, hey the sayin goes "When in doubt, Cut it out!" so ...i did! I used Bondo Fiberglass which works verry well BUT ...man make sure u dont put too much excess or youll be sandin for days!
The pics below is my most resent patch job and pics of process!
as you can see i tapped most of the rust off buT i had to open the door to see if it was more....thats when i discovered....
and tapped the rest out
after tha tapping i cut and sanded the rust out and ended up with... a nice hole...
therefore i had to buy sum fiberglass cloth to go with my fiberglass bondo (for holes bigger than a inch)and when i was finished i ended up with
which is pretty good for my 3rd patch job...but i had alot of excess and it took me forever to sand down...but i sanded it down and ended up wit (after sanding and repatchin where needed)
I got one more spot to patch ...i think this ones gonna be harder but ill manage...how will i get better if i dont introduce myself to challenges?...well ...this is it :(.....
*3/24/09* i took my sideskirts off today to repatch old rust holes (first time around i did a quick fix cause it was sposed to rain). n had to take off my sideskirt holders to completly glass it all... so now my ride jus looks weird on one side lol...AND its sposed to rain tomorr all day so i guess thatll let me kno if i did a good job or not cause i was gettin ALOT of water on the floor on the drivers side...almost puddle like...rediculous
