Pictures of my Cobra II as purchased...

I Purchased my Cobra II in November 2000 on a while driving through the country to a neighboring town. It was sitting on someone's front lawn and it was actually my wife who told me I should stop and have a look at it (cool wife, huh). The owner was asking $3,000 for it so I offered $2,000 and he agreed (actually his wife agreed, as it was her car...another cool wife).

gottacobra2's 1976 Ford Mustang IIThe interior is orignial and in great shape considering its age, with only the dash having a few split in the pad and the drivers seat seams coming apart. Could use new carpeting as well.

gottacobra2's 1976 Ford Mustang IIEngine is also mostly original(to my knowledge) with the original 2 barrel carb being swapped out for a 4 barrel one. The air cleaner was missing (purchsed one on ebay $25!) and basically only had to do a tune up and change the fluids and had the carb rebuilt...it runs great.

gottacobra2's 1976 Ford Mustang III had to remove the chin spoiler due to it being damaged when I purchased the car. I removed it to prevent any further damage. The front lower valance was brittle and was unsalavagable...I soon found out that replacement ones were hard to come by and expensive.

gottacobra2's 1976 Ford Mustang IIThe rear spoiler was also remove to do some repairs to the mounting studs...as you can see this car was originally white...

It's been 6 years, 2 homes and 2 daughters later and I am still trying to get her "show ready". I am having a lot of trouble deciding whether to keep the car Blue or go back to the original colour of White. It's a great car and a blast to drive, and turns alot of heads when I take her out for a spin!
Hope you enjoyed looking at my Ride!
Mike

Hey Mike, how's the resto coming. I think going back to white with the blue stripes would look nice. Then again, blue with white stripes is just as nice. Oh what do I know?? Ipainted mine orange.....LOL

Mike, you have a great ride. My first Cobra II was just the same color and seeing yours brings back a lot of good memories of the days. I bought mine for $300 back then and fixing a few vacuum and exhaust leaks gave me a great car. Enjoy it. Love the car!

i would go back to white and then paint all the louvers back to black and put the stripes back to the blue to match the interior and while the car is in the paint shop take the seats and other removeable items out and redye them back to original shine and luster the black on the ouside with the blue stripes will make the car pop stand out better

Nice looking Cobra II. It is odd to see the driver's seat in such great shape. I look forward to seeing the completed project.
