So before there was my 97' Monte, I had a 1991 S-10 Extended Cab. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, (a crackhead stole my truck, got involved in a high speed chase, and ended up ramming into a garage unloading a whole wall of tools onto a brand new Lexus), I found myself looking for a vehicle to get to work. My cousin offered to sell me his Monte and now I have a project car.
Here are a couple of pictures from when I recovered my truck, it was pretty well totalled so I just took what I could, including the stereo system that the guy never touched, and left the rest for the salvage yard.

basically the whole drivers side was tore up, and 3 of the windows were busted out

So here's my new project, it's a 1997 Monte Carlo LS with the 3.1 L V6.
The car came equipped with aftermarket tinted windows, an aftermarket power moonroof, and a dual MP3 player, which I quickly swapped out for my Kenwood MP3 player out of my truck.
All I've done so far is installed my system from my truck, (Clarion 240 watt 2 channel amp, 1-10" Planet Audio Sub, custom sealed box), as well as drop the stock exhaust for a Ractive MT500 stainless muffler.

My future plans are to get a set of Quantum Tek S103 rims to make my ride look a bit more unique.

Update (9-7-2006) Current plans are to replace the stock air intake system with a K&N short ram/cold air intake system. Pictures will come when the installation is complete.
Update (again 9-19-2006) short ram/cold air intake system is in, and I must say it sounds a LOT better and I can definately feel the added pickup...next on my list is a set of HiLite Xenon headlights. As always, more pictures to come, including more of the intake, this picture was taken with my camera phone so I appologize for the lack of detail/size.

Update (9-24-2006) I didn't like how my car looked like every other stock Monte on the road, so I went ahead and made a subtle change to the backend to change things up a bit. I blacked out the clear panel under the already black part of the trunk lid using 5% window tint, then cut out slots in the tint where my backup lights go so that they will still light up whatever is behind me if I'm backing up. Here are a few pictures to show what I did.

The last picture shows a better view of the cutouts for the backup lights.
Update (10-9-2006) Clear Green HVAC knobs

Ideas for more projects are slowly beginning to materialize in my head but I'm always up for suggestions.
