I would like to give a Special Thanks to everyone at Thunder Mountain Paint for undergoing this paint scheme with me. To everyone; thanks for sharing your valuable tips and hints! I learned so much from working with you guys! The car looks GREAT!
We had just finished up with the body work on the car itself. The front and rear bumper still need some work before they can be primed. This is the start to masking off the car so it can be shot for the first time with some primer.

Here's what she looked like with four heavy coats of black and four heavy coats of clear on top of that. We sanded through a good two layers of clear though. So here she's sitting with six coats of paint ready for the side graphic to be layed out.

Here I am laying out my design with some quarter inch blue tape. To the left is my original design. Once I starting actually laying it out on the car, I found that it didn't flow as well as I thought it would and it was distracting in some places. So I spent a good three hours reworking the design on the car. I am very happy with how it turned out.

Here she is out of the booth with a dazzling three coats of red and three coats of clear. She's been wet sanded and made perfect. The red I used is called Ralley Red. It is the red you would see on an 06 Civic Si. I had debated using an older Honda red, that of which is on like a 96 Del Sol, but I think the newer Honda red makes the car look a bit younger.
Putting her back together was a delicate procedure. Thanks to the Thunder Mountain crew we got her all put back together and looking nice and shiny. And let me tell ya, this guy who's polishing the car, he is amazing! As one of the guy's at Thunder Mountain said, If he wanted to, he could make a piece of shit shine.

This is my best friend and I with our cars. He's got a 1999 Civic Si. I think our cars look pretty good next to each other. Go check out
Jake's Cardomain page and rate his ride as well!
