I have fallen way behind on my site for my truck, and just found you asking about the tinting of my tail lights. Since I have done it, I have not had any problems with police or anyone who inspects. At night, you can see quite easily through the tint.

It was quite easy to apply, just make sure there is no wax on the tail light, as it causes it to have a "cracked" effect on it.

My tailights are original, I put AVS taillight shades on my tailights with 3M strips to mount them so they dont fall off. I had to do a little trimming, but it requires more with the newer body's because of the plastic, but the older ones just a little pounding with a hammer will make your tires not rub all the time, but they will rub a bit.

go on ebay and look up "White LED 3157" It is a bulb with a bunch of white LED's on it, gives it that nice clean look
