1979 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
Intro...
Whas up yall? This is my 79 Monte that I bought on eBay from the original owner in June of 06. Got all the original paperwork, window sticker, brochure, manuals & warranties. Also got records of every single thing done to the car down to the oil & filter changes.
I'm keepin it real clean, kinda that resto-mod look. Lots more to come, so keep checkin back!

5.22.09: Engine bay is painted!! Man, what a job. After about 5-6 hours of de-greasing, grinding, cleaning, re-cleaning and taping, 1.5 hours of painting, 2.5 cans of Duplicolor Gloss Black it's finally done.

4.19.09: Got the 81-88 third brake light installed. Pics below. Had to try three different paints before I found one that matched. This was a harder mod than it looks. To install it I had to take the rear seat out and remove the package tray, then cut a hole in the package tray and the sound deadener. After that drill two holes in the metal tray to mount the bracket. A lot of careful measuring, etc. I think it looks original.
4.19.09: I ordered a pair of bi-xenon projectors with white angel eyes for my headlights. They'll have to be retrofitted, but it'll be nice to have REAL projectors and that great cutoff line for the low beams. Also the angel eyes should look great.
4.17.09: Still making progress on the rebuild and paint work. I've got the motor, trans, and pretty much all brackets and other parts painted. I've still got to clean and paint the front suspension/crossmember, and then I can put the motor and trans back together and back in the car. I'll post some pics of the progress as soon as I get the crossmember painted.
3.14.09: Time for an update. Got the motor and trans pulled. The motor is stripped down and ready for paint, just need some decent weather. Here's a couple of pics from a few days ago; since then I've cleaned the motor up and disassembled it to just the block and heads.
2.10.09: Just got my SS Rally Gauges installed! Haven't got the tach wire connected, or the oil pressure sender and temp sender installed so I can't tell if those 3 gauges are working properly yet. But the gas gauge and voltmeter are working to perfection. I'm really hoping I did everything right so I don't have to pull the dash apart again...

1.13.09: HIDs got here today. I got em installed and they work perfectly. No pics of the install yet, I need a couple more things to finish it. But I will say these things are BRIGHT AS HELL! They're also so blue they make my white LEDs look yellow/green. Still don't have the car running...
1.1.09: Painted the faces and needles of my SS Rally pack, and put the overlays on. They lookin right now.
12.29.08: Finally ordered an HID kit. They're Apexcone 10,000ks. Can't wait for these things. Seller says shipping will take 2-3 weeks cause they're behind. I also want to retro fit some true HID projectors into the headlights, but I've got to find some that will fit first. The 7x6 headlights don't give you much room to work.
