Sure, it's not a car that just anyone would choose to restore. But it's mine and I love it.

I've been everywhere in my Escort: to Vegas, over the Rocky Mountains, across the Great Plains, up and down both coasts. Logging roads, beaches, up the hills and down the dales. My body shop bill testifies to the abuse I've subjected it to. Call it penance, maybe. Suffice it to say, it's the first car I ever owned and it's the car I plan to drive until I die.
BEFORE: The Escort on the day it arrived at the body shop: a sad, scruffy little beater, but one that's already had a full engine and trans swap.
WAY BEFORE: This is what the Escort looked like during its West-Coast glory days, before I brought it to New York and wrecked it in the salt. By the time this pic was taken, it had already served several years as my high-school AND college car.
My dream had always been to do a complete resto on this car, and once I'd had it in New York for a winter or two, I decided it was beat enough to justify it.
