NSAneon's 1983 Porsche 944To complete the 'total pacakge' I guess now would be the time to upgrade/replace the 23 year old suspension that the car has had since its first mile. Decided to go with a coilover package from Koni for the front struts and Koni sport shocks for the rear. NSAneon's 1983 Porsche 944

NSAneon's 1983 Porsche 944'83 to '85 944s were equipped with cartridge-type struts that allow for easy replacement/rebuilding. Pretty sad the force of gravity caused the strut to contract on its own.

Nasty, 25 year old shock on the left - ewwwwww; brand new, fresh Koni shock on the right - yummmmmm!NSAneon's 1983 Porsche 944

The good 'ol 2 piston brake setup isn't going to cut it.  In order to slow all of this horsepower down, I am going to need to upgrade the brakes.  Only 800 bucks for an upgrade kit from rennbay.com.

So with the additional pistons and clamping force that comes with them, I sould be able to stop better than I did before!!  Had to drain the old brake fluid out and replace it with synthetic DOT 5 fluid.

Very little room for error with the stock 944 rims, but hopefully I should be able to come to a stop from 160MPH in a pretty respectable amount of time.  Something critical to consider when adding serious HP to a car that didn't have much to start with
