Door Poppers
Picked these up off eBay for a little over a hundred bucks.
Quite a bargain considering the same product from Autoloc/
Protocol goes for about $250
Here is the outer side of the door after I removed
the door handles - not bad, eh?
Decided not to use the cable that the Autoloc kit provided
(the silver thread-like cable), but instead used a bronze
rod
Drilled a hole in the larger portion of the door release
mechanism and created a hook for the rod to be bent into.
Here shots of the solenoid in the door - it's a little close
when the window is down, but it functions quite nicely
Got my hatch replacement from gt-racing.com. I think it changes the sillouhette of the car. Thoughts?
This is the IFC Racing Widebody Kit http://www.allporscheracing.com that I just picked up. Mike, the owner of the company is very helpful and goes the extra mile to ensure that you have all of the information needed to complete the install. I am really looking forward to getting this installed, although I will then need to repaint the body again.......

Here's what I am doing to install the front fenders of the widebody kit. First I marked off 2 inches from the hood and 1 inch around the edge

Then I took the grinder to the fender! The following is quite disturbing - only the strong should look!

Test fitting fenders to match IFC Widebody Air Dam

Before
After
Prepping surfaces before applying glue

Put the other side on and blended everything - looking good!!

Now I need to reinstall the retractable headlights ..... again.

Test fitting the rear of the kit - plus it keeps it out of the way in the garage (and accidental damage)

This will allow for BIG MEATS!!!
I am going to need a wider garage . . . .

The following photos are very disturbing to Porsche purists - viewer discretion advised!
IFC Bodybody tub installation require significant modification of the stock 944 sheetmetal. The secret here is to cut conservatively and go from there.

Tubs would not go in with the conservative cut - had to go a little more radical

To prevent leaks and provide some additional strength to the tub I blended them into the body

They look good by themselves - going to put the outer shell on this week (If I get the time)

These shots are what it looks like when you have the panel misaligned! After several days of thinking about the best way to proceed, I ended up GENTLY removing the quarter panel and reattaching it.

Properly aligned passenger side.

Reinstalled drivers side quarter panel with damage repaired.

I had to cut the bumper cover off because the indentation for the license was hitting the bumper (despite the bumper delete kit). I ended up having to remove the bumper. I am suprised, though, at how sturdy the fiberglass is

Kit is blended with the body now. I now need to sand the rough spots down with the sanding block. You can see where I patched the bumper cover back to the rear quarter panels. I am surprised at how easy it went. Fiberglass matting is a good thing!

944 Header Panel is finally in place - thought I'd test fit the hood. This is the first time the hood has been on the car since the removal of the Porsche engine. Actually starting to look like a car again!!

I am surprised it's aligned the first time on!!
