Had to remove the seat to get some room. Not to mention, with the leaky sunroof and hatchback, this car is definetly going to get a new interior.
Remember the 'warped' dashboard? Check the following photos out.
Friends should not let friends try dashboard 'reconditioning' alone.

Well . . . . . Out with the old . . . . . I curse that darned mouse that tried making a nest behind the glovebox! BLEAHHHHH!!
Picked up a replacement dashboard up from DCAuto.com for 180 bucks - the guys there also did a good job at patching many of the cracks, but I also needed to upgrade my instrument cluster because I would like to use an electrical speedometer instead of the stock unit. Unfortunately, the Autometer gauges are smaller than the stock units so I couldn't use them in the 944 instrument cluster.

Here is my feeble attempt at coming up with my own cluster.

Placement of gauges and 'dummy' lights. Using cut PVC pipe to angle the gauges. While this looks good as is with the stainless steel, it's not finished yet.

Covering the steel and angle PVC with stretchy cotton fabric that was then covered with fiberglass resin.

After the resin dried, I sanded then put metal glaze on, then sanded.

Krylon Ultra Flat Black paint completes the look - I'm missing a voltmeter though.
Who says I'm not entitled to change my mind? I really didn't like the way the other panel looked, so I got another piece of steel and used a poliser attachment to make a swirl pattern, then clear coated the panel. This is the result!!
Decided to replace the old Porsche 944 seats with something a little more contemporary (and comfortable too!). This is the Sparco Chrono Road seat - very roomy in the seat and shoulders! I great buy for men with large'ish frame body types. Picked 2 up on ebay for 450 bucks apiece.

Here I am checking out the positioning of the accelerator pedal and whether or not I actually fit in the seats - quite comfy if I do say so myself!! Sparco Chrono Road seats - two thumbs up!!
Remember the nasty carpet? Here's the replacement carpet (kit found on EBay for 350 bucks) being test fitted. Also an interior shot through the hatch - I have Dynamat under the carpet to deaden road noise.

Here is is fabric (leatherette) that I am going to use as a headliner. Lexus Black was the name - 32 bucks a yard (OUCH!)

Here's an interior shot with the hatch on and headliner in place
