carmine615's 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass

This is my 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass F-85 Town Sedan, it's- as you can tell, the four door sedan. We'll start with the basics, it has roughly 62,000 miles on it. Low mileage and all original, no odometer roll-back.

The History of the car...
This car was my aunt's car, she had bought it from a dealership locally in Morristown with my uncle. She had driven it lightly to the store and back, running errands around town daily for approx only three years. She suffered a stroke, paralizing her entire body. As she was not able to drive the car, my uncle being deeply saddened by the condition this left my at the time, very healthy aunt, in, he had kept it under a tarp in his garage until 2003 when he passed away (God bless).

In 2003, it was given to my grandparents and left to sit in their driveway without a tarp until late 2005 when I had aquired it. By then, I was very surprised how quickly rust bubbles had set in to both the front and rear wheel wells. My grandpa apparently did some joy-riding down Route 10 and shot the brakes, so it was not in safe driving condition. I had it towed to my house.

While in my posession so far, I have completely replaced all hydraulic brake lines, bled them, rebuilt the four drum brakes, and plan on updating the master cylinder as it appears to have very substantial surface rust- fortunately nothing threatening the integrity of the unit however. Just cosmetically unappeasing...

Over the spring of 2006, I found that the car would not crank- no life at all. Dead battery... I ran a few jumpstarts on the 'Olds to see if I could get him to crank. He cranked, but wouldn't fire. I replaced all 8 spark plugs, still to no avail. Battery was full and alternator was in good working order (I checked) as well. I then determined it was a fuel problem. After some trial and error, I had found that the fuel pump went bad and seized up. I replaced the fuel pump, fuel filters, and approx a 1' fuel line that was in poor condition. The car ran, but terribly. I preformed an obvious tune-up and then found necessary that I should rebuild the carb. I ordered the appropriet gaskets and such, and did that. Ran and still runs like a charm... Idle is a little finicky and I have concluded that because I cannot drive this legally on public roads, it may just need a nice "Italian Tune-up" to cough the soot out of the system and get it running like the day it was birthed...

Future Projects
I have been told by peers of mine to "Pimp" this out, but I have been and will be looking to keep it bearing the Classic/Muscle Car erra look. The only modifications I plan on preforming are that I definitely need some rims. I plan on purchasing a set of Cragar Keystone Klassics (Picture of rims). I also feel a slight lift in the rear with some fatter tires would aid in the classic/muscle car look I am trying to accomplish. The third main project I have is a hp flowmaster header-back dual exhaust system. And anything else in the future, may include new headers, hp manifold, hp carb (would like a four barrel in there someday... edelbrock), some billet engine accsessories here and there... I don't plan on selling this either. It's got a lot of sentimental value and it's been in our family since the day it was purchased, two towns away.
