We had purchased this immaculate and mostly original 1971 Plymouth Barracuda Gran Coupe 383 in January '99 from a gentleman in our Colorado Mopar Club. It was an original GY3 "Curious Yellow" car with 2 tags worth of some VERY unique options! The car was ordered with the L-code 383-2 barrel. From there, the option list grows much more interesting! How about a Rim-Blow steering wheel, ralleye guages, console mounted casette player, and rear window louvers? Want more? How about the go-wing spoiler package, ralleye wheels, elastomeric bumpers, sport hood with pins, power windows, and cruise control?! Oh, did I mention power steering, brakes, rear window defogger, and the light group?? Sounds like the ordering dealership (Roger Mauro Chrysler- Plymouth of Denver) wanted a "luxury" car with some hot 'Cuda toys! And......EVERYTHING WORKED PERFECTLY!!!
The really neat thing is that this car was a virtual hardtop "twin" to my old '71 convertible. Both were "Curious Yellow" cars with elastomeric bumpers and black interiors. This really turned some heads at recent car shows!!
