SFH1989's 1971 Ford LTD This is my 1971 Ford LTD convertible. It has a 429 big block, C6 automatic and a 9" rear end. The best part is I got it for a grand total of $0 with 102,000 miles on it. It is a great project car. Here's what's been done so far: completely replaced the breaks, tires, tranny service, u-joints, re-cored radiator, new tranny cooler, timing gears/chain, shocks, valve covers, Edelbrock dual plain intake, Holley 4bbl carb, MSD distributor, fan/fan clutch, thermostat, and some fuzzy dice.

Hi, I think this Yellow 1971 Ford LTD Convertible may have been my car from college? My name is Tom Norwood and my dad Tom Norwood Sr. sold the car approximately 1982 to Ray Ibitz of Bristol CT. Ray kept the car for many years. My e-mail address is tnorwood@triad.rr.com When we sold the car in 1982, the factory windshield wiper switch was broken and a second on/off peg switch was installed at the bottom of the dash board. Please contact me if you believe this may be the same car. Thank you, Tom Norwood

My first ride was a 1972 Ford LTD with a 1971 400 CID engine. I know this because I purchased the car for $25 and the downer car for $100 because the original had its engine stripped. Being Wisconsin autos all were rust in the wind. Fun cars with power and comfort. Poor handling, but who in the old Big Three handled we. Thanks for the post. Always wanted a 71 or 72 LTD rag top.
