I bought this truck from my father in May 2006. Truck has 143K on it as of Aug 09. The Deisel motor was swapped out about 7 years ago to a 79 Olds 350 with 74k on it as Aug 09. The first week I painted the stock rims black and added a Billet Grille.

Here it is the day I picked it up.                        This is how it sits as of now.Uno99's 1981 GMC SierraUno99's 1981 GMC Sierra

Update 10/23/06 Finished installing Tec-Style Tonneau Cover. Got it for $115 at Summit. I Could not pass up the price. Snap covers kind of suck but I rarely use the bed to haul anything so I figure what the hell. This cover installed in only 20 min. Here is a shot from the driver seat.

Update 1/20/07 I got started on the new Stereo today. I didn't want to go overboard on this and tried to keep the budget down. There is a great local company called THE EXCLUSIVE COMPANY nearby so I picked up a few things. They have all kinds of great clearace item as well as last years models. I picked up a Pioneer head unit, 300 watts Mtx amp and a 10" kicker subwoofer. It sound great!! Component speaker will come after I finish my 3/4 drop.

Update: 5/9/07 Last night I finished laying on the new Silver Metallic Racing Stripes. I Picked these up for $80 from a local Vendor Elite Signs and Banners. This company is very resonable. These stripes had a 1/4 inch pinstripe on each side but I ended up tearing one and had to remove the others.

Update 6/24/07 This weekend I finally got the 3/4 drop installed. I went the inexpensive route and did 3 inch drop coils up front with shackels and hanger in the rear. I remove the helper spring and one leaf in the rear as well.

Update 8/18/07 Last night I had the new Holley carb and Edelbrock performer intake installed. Here are a few pics of the new carb and the used performer intake I picked up for $70. The intake cleaned up ok and I painted the valve covers. cruise control module, and thermostat housing. I still have a few think to button up but I've got to tell you...this think runs like a whole new truck I am soooo please with the outcome. My qjet was on it's last leg.

Update: 2/7/08 I ordered up some white gauge overlays and blue LED bulbs up from www.whiteguages.net for a total of $75. I paid $20 for the overlays and $5 for each led bulb. It turned out pretty nice. Of coarse I would love to have new AUTO METER gauges but this will hold me over for now. All together it took me about 3 hrs. I replaced the stock bulbs behind the heater/AC, wiper, & Tach to the Blue LED.

NOTE: My kit came with the Wiper and Heater/ AC overlay so If your interested in giving this kit a try you don't need to spend the extra $9 for the heater/ac overlay.

Update: 4/3/08 The flowtech ceramic coated header are now installed. I've heard alot of people complain about these headers. The welds are a bit sloppy but the fit and ceramic coating is fine. Due to the Angle of the Olds V8 I need to get a starter blanket and an oil filter relocation kit.

Here are a couple of car show pics.

Update 10/13/08  Well my rear end started to make some noises that past few days. Upon investigation We found the pinion bearing where all chewed up and a few where in the hangin out in the bottom of the diff pan????  Now the truck has 3.73's!! Thank god those dreaded 2.56's out long gone!!

Future Mods
Dual 2" Cowl Hood
New aluminum radiator
18x9's up front 18x10's out back
