OWNER'S STORY:
This truck came after I decided to move into something bigger than my 99' MK4 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA - I had always been into foreign cars, Japanese and German mainly, but somehow I decided to switch to an SUV - and what else could come my way more easily than an all-American FORD?
Although the Escape does share some life with the Mazda Tribute and Mercury Mariner, this XLS model had everything I was asking for at the moment - Low miles, Manual Tranny, 4-Cylinders and most importantly room.
The purpose of this truck was clear and simple - More space for the baby - more room to carry goodies around - efficient on gas mileage - with an enjoyable 5-speed tranny... The ESCAPE offered me that and more.
