1976 C20 Chevy Pickup 3/4 ton
pictures not the same as the truck
This truck has a history, a very long history!!!
The first truck was a 1973 chevy C10 pick-up camper special. the engine was a 350 corvette motor with edelbrock intake, and carb with a 400 automatic turbo trans. this thing smoked the tires!!! about 200 or 2001 it got body work, and a flagged paint job inside and out. it went to many shows. In about 2002 or 2003, it was the resting point. the frame broke after all those years. right in front of the shock mount probibly because of the weight of hauling the 1974 chevy vega GT to the race track, shows, and BURNOUT CONTESTS. WOW, after all those years.
We were going to Wal-Mart and HOLY $H!T, a 1976 chevy truck, we stopped. we picked up the pick up for $350. it was a green 1976 truck, chevy, that was down in texas working. it had a stick shift with a granny gear. perfect frame $h!tty interior, but we were the only ones in McHenry county,IL to buy this truck, and fully restore it. So we rented a car hitch tower thing and gave the 73' a final run, to haul its replacement.
WOW, what a mess, the box was toast. we didn't even mess with it, so after 4 500 lbs. ratchet straps and an engine hoist, that was toast, and broke. Next, wow, at that time, "what next" was history, never said it. so many parts were rotted and destroyed, we fixed. under those RUBBER FLOOR MATS was RUST!!!
(WARNING!!!! RUBBER FLOOR MATS ROTTS OUT THE FLOOR)
The part under the door was rotted. the fenders were rotted, there was a big, small, but big dent in the middle of the hood. That was all gone. After all that body work, Paint. In the middle of the project, we realized, duh, 1976, you know, 1776, bicentennial, so now we painted it, once again, flagged.
It was done in time for the 2003 rush of shows. It was at the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour 2005. didn't run due to projects, but it showed up at the meet. this truck is fast, awesome, and a must see, i think, and hundreds others think.
if you live in the area, there are the Richmond cruise nights in Illinois every Friday night, we are there almost every friday night, so come see it in person.
NO THE 4 x 4 isnt the truck, but it looks like the 73, the 76 has no weaves, just straight.
