So... im working on a few things for my work van... my prototype kick panels are complete, but im using a/d/s/ 346im coaxials, and they just dont cut it for me. Need something much louder, due to the fact that the ambient noise in the van is so high, which makes it hard to mask. Current system consists of an Alpine 9815 with changer and XM radio, an AudioControl EQX (which im hating more by the day), a matching pair of Kicker ZR360's... one running highpass to a pair of a/d/s/ 346im coaxials, the other running lowpass to a Kicker X12C solo in a sealed enclosure. Upcoming changes include a new Clarion DXZ845MC with a changer (the new clarions SPANK the alpines in SQ... no comparison), think im keeping the Kicker amps, but may switch to Zapco, as i carry zap here, and gonna put in some Focal Utopia components up front.
Anyways, those who know me know that i do home theater/audio for a living, so ill include some pics of one of my current jobs.

This is a Crestron video switcher that handles all of the video and digital audio switching in this system. This system will have 5 high-definition TiVo satellite receivers, an Escient DVD server system that controls 2 Kenwood 400 disc DVD changers, 14 security cameras, and a bunch of other stuff im not gonna explain.

This is the other rack, and your looking at the back of the Crestron audio switchers and amplifiers. Each audio switcher has 8 zones of output, and each one of the large amps on the bottom has 16 channels. The smaller Adcom amps on top are 2 channels each. Yes... those are hand made cables.
Yes... i wired this system up.

These are the two racks side by side... i call them the twin towers... no they are not done yet, as i am still in the build phase of this project.

There is a front shot of the racks... they are too big for me to get entirely in the pic... they are over 6 feet tall each. On the left is the audio rack, and the right is the video rack. The silver unit on the right is the security camera server, with 302GB of storage. Above it is the Crestron video processor, and above that is the Crestron PRO2 'brain'...where i work all my magic

The pic on the left is of the 3 Lutron HomeWorks RF Lighting Processors. These 3 units control all the lights in the house via digital RF commands. There are something like 150+ light switches in this home, and i control all of them through the Crestron system. The picture on the right is of the Crestron interface box that talks to the Lutron system, and also controls the Ademco security system, which is located next to the interface box. (note... i did NOT install those Lutron processors... those wires look like ass to me, and im gonna have to re-do some other company's work...)

These are some shots of the dedicated theater that is in this residence. There will be a 123" screen and a $50k dollar Runco Projector in here, along with a 7.1 system with B&W Signature Inwall speakers and dual Focal Utopia 13" subs all installed by yours truely. Power will be provided by Rotel, with 3 monoblocks across the front for front stage, 2 stereo amps for the surrounds, and a HUGE ass amp for the subs. This is still under construction, and more is coming soon.

So... here is the amplifier rack and the wiring coming out of the wall. The wiring is shown unfinished. The amp rack houses 6 Rotel RB1070 amplifiers, 5 of which are internally bridged. One Rotel RB1070 for each of the following speakers: left front, center front, right front, left side surround, right side surround. The other RB1070 runs the two back surrounds in a stereo mode. Also shown in the rack is a Rotel RMB1066 6-channel amp (for some multizone areas) and the monster Rotel RB-1090 amplifier on the bottom for the subs. Now shown with the new tinted glass doors.

Here are some more pics of the theater as it comes along. The frame of the screen is sitting against the projection wall, a close up of the right front detail, and some pics looking at the surround speakers and acoustical panels.

Here are some pics of the theater as it gets closer to being finished. The Fortress Theater Seating (with power recline) is now installed, the screen is up (the curtians are not hung yet), and you can see the XBOX, PS2, and GameCube in the center console along with the 15" Crestron Touchscreen.

This is one of the smaller racks that resides in the left hole in the entertainment cabinet of another room in the house. The hole on the right will be fitted with another rack that holds some more equpment and dvd's.

The UltraSuede Seating from Fortress. These are the front two rows ready to be installed. They have power recline, and are SOOO comfortable.

This is the headend room where the towers call home. This is the electronical 'brain' of the house. More coming on this room soon... i have THOUSANDS of wires to hook up. Yay!!

This is the 61" Plasma and its VisionArt in action. Overall time is about 10 seconds to open/close.

Couple of shots of some other LCD screens in the house. One in the kitchen and the other at the billards room bar.

heres my house this last winter... got a surprise snow storm...

this is my work rig and my xterra, since everyone was bitching at me to get pics of my vehicles up here.

This is my big ass at the house with the theater. its my proof that i was there =-)
MORE PICS COMING SOON!!!
