Well, here are some things going on right now for the early spring projects. Have alot to do this season, really excited about everything planned. Most importantly, the front end is getting done, I have finally made up my mind on what to do with the front clip, but you have to keep checking back to see what I decided on, gonna look bad ass for sure.
So, had some new stuff arrive, fitting and installing now. First of all, I have had intermittent issues with the reverse lights, replaced all of the fuses, bulbs, checked all of the wiring, etc. Finally narrowed it down to the finicky little switch that is mounted at the transmission linkage, this should solve theproblem and be a done deal.

Gonna be a pain to install, but we will get-r-done, haha...
Next is the rear hatch, the struts that hold it up have seen much better days for sure. Went to EBAY for some brand spankin new ones. The front hood shocks are fine but the rear hatch, ummmm, no. Getting sick of gettin hit on the head while working in the hatch so it's time to install new struts, made a ton of difference and even took the rattle out of the rear hatch while driving, these just fixed everything back there, awesome...

Now, since the rear hatch strut replacement the hatch has so much pull pressure, from the new struts, that it has been randomly opening from time to time during driving, fun... So I figured to get in there and replace what looks like it is 22 years old. First thing I noticed were the hatch pins, they were just old and worn. Put a set of brand new aluminum ones in there, good to go...

Now, this worked better but the hatch still would pop just on the drivers side. After further investigation, I realized that the drivers side Hatch Pin Lock was not closing properly, even after maintenance and clean up, lube, etc. So, that was next on the restore. Went with a brand new latch pin lock assembly...

Now, none of this stuff was a worry before due to my hatch struts not having enough power to even pull up on the hatch. Once I replaced the struts I realized how old and gringy the rear hatch locking system was, so at least that is taken care of and really cleaned up now. I figured I would finish up the job with the rear hatch lock seal, which was old and cracked and definitely needing replacement. Went brand new with that. Also picked up a real sweet license plate bracket to mount my Classic Car tag in now, nice...
Now, since I have been restoring the entire rear hatch system and area I figured I would attack the foggy, water logged, dim, discolored tail lights. Gonna clean that up with a very near new rear light set off of a low mileage 951 parts car. Got the lights for a great deal, can't wait to mount them in. Stay tuned for some updated pics after the install, looking forward to the final product for sure.

The Power steering has been an ongoing issue in the car as well. Of course the leaky old power steering reservoir, etc. Cleaned that up and now I am about to install my new Power Steering rack to clean everything up, be done with the leaking power steering fluid, etc. All about it, can't wait. Another EBAY special for a great deal, gotta love EBAY, right?!?!

I had some intermittent starting issues which was tracked down to the DME Relay. These are typical with no start issues, and are a real ease to replace. Installed a brand new relay and have an extra new one for the glove compartment!!!

Well, Have just about everything installed and fitted now. More efforts towards my "perfect" 944 restore/mod, well, at least in my eyes...haha
Now, another thing has, as well as this stuff above, come along to add to the project. We will call it "stage 3" of the Black C2 Turbo/C4 wheels. If ya remember, when I first acquired these they were off of a lightly tracked SCCA C4, and painted a rich flat black over the clearcoat, by the previous owner. We touched them up a bit, ummm, not bad. Then, listed on Page 11 here, you saw the "more sheen" modification to the wheels, adding 2 coats of a nice black satin. Looked better, for sure. Now, going back to page 8 the car was in the body shop, getting COMPLETELY overhauled, as you can see from the looks of it now. This was taken care of by a prestigious top notch body shop that happens to be owned by my father in law, ohhhhh yeeeeah. (My wife swears I married her for her dad, hehe). Anyway, point of the story is he was over a few days ago and we were pacing around the car discussing the wheels, If I was going to keep them this way, my options, etc. So one thing led to another and BAM, he took full control.
So, the wheels are done, back on and lookin crazy shiny good. He did a full strip of the wheels black different layers, OEM clearcoat, etc. You name it, it was removed. Then baked the shiaat out of 2 coats of base and 2 of clear, and Whoa is all I can say about that. Oh Yeah
Check out some pics here now of the rear of the car all cleaned up with the new goodies installed, the very clean tailights, the super saweeet black wheel job, etc, etc...

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do, thanks a ton for checking me out and sharing my project documentation with me...
