Welcome to my post. Here I will be documenting and sharing my progress as I restore and customize/modify my 1986 Porsche 944 that I purchased recently out of Richmond, VA. Awesome car, I have always loved/wanted a 944 to do my own thing with. There is a world of custom parts/modifications/capabilities of the Porsche 944. These cars have great lines, wide hips, strong motors, awesome handling, true 50/50 weight distro, etc. They are a blast to drive, also make a great car for PCA/SCCA clubs and events, weekend tracking, etc. I could very well have the car on the track at some point in time but for now i am more interested in restoring what is needed and customizing/modifying to my liking, ya know???

Here is the first pic I saw of my beast, before purchase. This is where it all began...

The reason I purchased this specific car was that it ran like a true champ and the price was right. Jumped on a train to VA, did the deal right there at the train station!!! Then, drove it straight back up to PA, non stop, no problems the entire way...The car was solid and serviced correctly when I took ownership, the body and the interior were not as pleasant. No real dents or anything but a silver hood, faded paint, some damage to the lower front valance, etc. Where the silver parts on the front end came from, no one knows. The CarFax tells nothing about it, guess it will remain a mystery.

Below you will see some pics of the bad at purchase. Exterior is a mess and the inside is just old and tired. Again, no worries beings I have all the plans in the world to clean everything up, one project at a time. That's why I bought it right?

Here is a shot of the damaged lower front valance, which will be replaced with something different before the car gets painted. Maybe a turbo/S2 front or something custom from Fiberwerks, etc...

The FUCH's are in need of some serious attention and the engine is just plain dirty. Strong as a bull, but dirty...

Here are some shots of the interior, untouched. Seats are cracking and ripping, typical dash cracks, etc. There is hope, though... :-)

The door panels and other plastics inside are perfect, Center console, lower dash, trim, etc. The back seat is brand new. The Carpet kit came right back to life after a deep vacuum and shampoo. Awaiting the black OEM Porsche mats to complete the flooring restore.

Move along to page 2 while I begin to document all of the work I have completed so far and have planned for future projects...
