I bought this car from the local classifieds.
my roommate at the time had an Rx-3, this seemed like a nice companion to it, and was in surprisingly good shape.
The previous two owners had big plans for this one.
two owners ago, the interior was completely redone and exterior repainted.
a new Atkins rotary 13b was installed. (@41000mi now @54000)
the car was then sold to a fellow who was going to use it to commute to Seattle.
it was sold to me by the gentleman, because it ran rough.
after changing out the rusty gas tank clogged fuel filters, and stopping a vacuum leak, it ran well. After swapping on my friends carb it ran excellent. My plans were for a road trip car. gas prices let me down.
my roommate left and took the excellent carb with him. I only managed to get a hold of one rebuild kit for this Hitachi 4barrel, and after the rebuild it had intermittent misfires. I sat while i worked on other projects.
Now it is for sale with the receipts.
Runs well when cool, then can misfire. (ask for a progress report, running better all the time)
runs great at full throttle.
made a trip down to Seattle with little drama.
body is showing rust on bottom edges of door and trunk lid.
chrome on bumpers is flaking.
5 original wheels
all lenses and trim are perfect, with the exception of a missing ash tray (stolen w/change from the unlocked car)
built in radar detector
newer 4 speaker casette stereo
maroon velour interior.

Compression test was completed with excelent results. Plugs were pulled. apparently they have been fouling due to an improper heat range. I suspect that a swap of plugs and a new set of wires will solve the misfire.
NEW NEW NEWs
new plugs and wires did make the idle smoother, but there remains a part throttle misfire from 2-4000rpm.

sold to mike in everett WA. good job, good deal.
while unloading old parts to put in the trunk of the sold car i noticed that the carb on the car didn't have vent tubes like the "spare carbs" i had for parts. this top plate could make all the difference in the drivability. good luck with the car
