UPDATE: The Mint Ford now has a new rust and smash-free bed! Pictures to come soon. Check out the replacement pics at the bottom of this page!
I had been wanting a full-size pickup for some time, but they are just so darned expensive. It had to have 2wd, EFI and either had to be any Dodge, or a Ford with the 300cid inline 6. Anyway, I saw an ad for this monster in the swap sheet that said runs good, rusty bed, $600. When I went to look at this thing, it looked so bad, I almost decided to just keep driving, but I told the guy I would look at it so I did. With about a foot of snow covering the whole truck on this 0 degree January day, the guy said "Haven't started it in a few months, hope the batterys not dead." He got in and the friggin thing fired right up with no smoke! That, and talking him down to $400 since it needed a new gas tank sold me! New gas tank, radiator, water pump, ignition module, tires, and now this thing runs and drives like its brand new! I love it! The 300cid inline 6 is awesome. It can smoke my friends 92 F-150 with a 302 V8. Its got 265 ft/lbs of torque at 2000 RPM. With the overdrive automatic, the thing pretty much idles everywhere it goes. I used it to move, and completely loaded with a heavy tool chest and furniture and junk, at speeds from 75 to 80, I got 18 mpg! Plans include new fenders, box and doors and paint job.

Here is how lovely it looked when I first brought it home:

This is my cat, Zeke. He is on here because he loves old Ford trucks.

Looking better now with some wheel covers, new front fenders and black painted bumper:

Update 12/17/06
Still have the sweet 92 F150, which is now all in primer, pics to come. Check out my sweet freshly purchased '77 F250 2wd 360/4spd:

Interior needs some attention:

Update 2/4/07
The 1977 F-250 now has its own page! Check it out!
The 1977 F-250 was nice enough to haul a replacement bed home for its younger brother:

Heres some saucy pics of the F-150 sitting "nekkid" with no bed on! At least it's wearing a nice new coat of primer, some fresh black wagon wheels with raised white letter tires and a new bright orange diff cover! (Jacking it up by the pumpkin made the old rusted out cover leak)
The old back tires didn't seem to last very long.... hmmmm, I wouldn't have a clue why ;-) The new tires are great. I'm no longer willing to burn 'em off like I used to, but now I can cruise vibration-free at 85mph @ 1900 rpm with my overdrive and 3.08 gears :-)
Who did this!?....
