When i bought my MX-6 it had the cai air induction so i dont have a comparison with the stock box but i will say that mine does great, now i have the 2.0L 4cyl. so there is alot of room around the tubes for breathing and airflow so i think there is alot less heat transfer, now i have seen them in the 6cyl. rides and then there is no room, the tubes are almost touching the motor and are right next to everything hot so i could see that being a bigger deal there, but i have friend who mod'ed a stock box to hold a K'n'N cone filter in his stock box and he swears by it, so thats an option too

Sounds like some nice plans man....as for mine just going back threw and fixing rigged up jobs the dude did to it, i have alot of work, needs new tires, putting in my sterio, re-wiring half the car from the aftermarket lights he put in to just fixing factory stuff like the tail lights and sunroof, if you havn't checked it out already you should get on "mx6.com" make a profile and check out the blogs, you can find out ever bit of info about Gen.2 MX-6's they have been a huge help with my projects so far

Hi Adam. The performance mods are listed on my first page under the heading "engine setup" and the costs involved are on page 5.
