Purchased in January of 2005, this is my third Celica and second All-Trac, can you tell that I like 'em? :) First off, I don't have any pics of my current AT, the first pic is of my 1990 that I've sold. The rest below are of some of my favorites from fellow alltracnet members. My 92 is black, and I like black, but sometimes I miss having a red one, and I think the contrast of the black trim on the red looks awesome. And then of course there are other cool custom colors out there... it would be nice to be different, I've seen some really sharp blues and even an orange one that I liked. Might be cool to do a paint-job reminiscent of the actual rally car. Anywho, I like the stock scooped hood, but the Carlos Sainz bumper and hood do so much to cool down that hot AT engine compartment.
I'd like to keep it a daily driver but looking to upgrade the turbo to a larger trim and add the essentials such as a front mounted intercooler to go along with the CS bumper and a free-flow exhaust; I think a good goal would be about 300+ so that I can run with the Subbies :) I'm definitely going to widen the stance with spacers as seen in the pics and I do like the dished wheel look, though these aren't my style; I'm more into the classic five spoke look. Actually the ultimate would be to get a set like the 99 stockers I have on my GT but in 17 or 18's. They did a really good job on designing those wheels with the contrasting surfaces polished and brushed, they flash nicely as they spin. Definitely need to reupholster the interior. The stock seats are SO comfortable, so I'm keeping them, and I like the feel of the leather, but I may go to cloth since it seems to stay better looking longer. I may look into what it would take to fabricate a wrap-around cockpit style dash like they have on the 300zx or Supra MKIV.
Since I rarely have back-seat passengers and since the factory speaker set-up kinda stinks for good staging, I think I'll take the back seats out and build a speaker enclosure to go in it's place with some mids and a modest sub - lol. I miss my sunroof but I don't know if I'll punch a hole in the roof of this one or not, hard to find anyone who can do a job that looks like factory, so we'll see...
Currently the only mods I have per se are the GAB adjustable racing shocks. I do like how firm they are, nice for cornering and I don't get any squat from a standing start, but the softest setting on them can be pretty rough for daily driving, so I may go back to factory type.
All in all it's a great car to have. Lots of miles but the previous owner is a machinist at the U of I and so it's been well taken care of. Rebuilt at 100,000 miles, rack and pinion, A/C compressor and PS pump replaced, etc. I hope that I can continue to keep it nice and make it nicer...
Update: My Dad and I fabricated some speaker mounts to fit some 6.5" mids into the slots for the stock 8" subwoofers that come blown from the factory - lol Having the larger mids up front (as opposed to the lil' 4 inchers in the dash does SO much to balance out the sound. Someday when I'm rich I'd like to get some HLCD's from Image Dynamics mounted under the dash; but for now this works very well.
