My 1st Camaro. '68 RS w/ 210HP 327ci & PG, w/ Deluxe interior option non-AC car.

It was pretty mild, but cool enough with the Hooker headers, Edelbrock Performer intake and 750cfm Quadrajet carb, Mallory Unilite, Weiand Alumn W/P, etc.

I no longer have it in my possesion. (See update below.)

When I bought the RS I was 19, and I had no clue as to how much of a rust bucket it really was. The original color was British Green Metallic (Code ZZ). The guy I bought it from painted it '69 Hugger Orange, but since he didn't like orange, he added a slight red tint to it, which faded by the time these pics were taken. As it was, it was a cheap driveway paint job, with a lot of dirt in the paint. (It looked great from a distance though.) He also had the incorrect side mirrors off of a '67 Camaro. (Actually they were probably cheap reproductions and not GM NOS.)

When the paint started peeling near the fuel pipe, I couldn't match the orange/red custom color, so I did the next best thing and painted the panel satin black like the big block SS Camaros. (My dream Camaro, btw.) Not bad for a spray can and masking tape in the driveway, huh?

In the pic the ralleys are painted orange to match (actually Chevy red/orange engine enamel). I tried Black for a while as well, but eventually settled back on the original silver color. I sold it to my brother in 1991. He sold it not long after that, and I lost track of the car until September 18, 2003. (See update below... ironically I found it on my birthday... of all days.)

I'm planning similar mods for my '67 RS. However, its going to be a retro street cruiser. (See Page 1)

I am basically a Chevy man to the bone. My current and previous Chevy list is as follows (in order of last purchased or sold):

1. 1967 Camaro RS 327 ci V8
2. 2002 Tahoe LS 4.8 V8 (daily driver)
3. 1996 Blazer LS 4.3 V6
4. 1951 3100 Pick-up 216ci I6 (SOLD)
5. 1995 Camaro Z28 5.7 LT1
6. 1968 Camaro RS 327 ci V8 (SOLD)
7. 1967 Chevelle Malibu HT 283 ci V8 (Totalled)

Stay tuned as I update this page.

UPDATE: I recently found my old 68 RS. It is alive and well in Northern California. My brother, whom I sold it to, replaced the 327 and powerglide with a built 355 and TH350. He sold it after a couple years when it was barely running and he couldn't even get it to pass smog. The guy he sold it to hung on to it for a couple years, than sold it to another guy as a parts car. That guy decided to restore it instead. He changed the interior over to black, and painted it powder-blue with med. blue stripes. He has since sold it to a friend, who now has now sold it to another person on ebay.
