This was my 1970 Mustang Coupe, and this is it's story. It was my first car that I bought in 2004 for my 19th birthday. I got a pretty good deal on it at $4,200. It was originally Pastel Yellow and had a non-ford white respray before I bought it. The interior IIRC was a brown or faded green color and had been painted black and the seats reuphosltered black.

In march of 05 when I was leaving work I got a little sideways getting on the road and overcorrected into a telephone pole. The damage was minimal, I was going pretty slow when I collided. I damaged pretty much the whole front end including the core support and right headlight bucket. The fenders were fine and there was no engine damage.

I actually drove it home after a disgusting $540 negligence 2nd degree ticket. It was my first and only ticket so far, I was able to defer it and it's off my record. The worst part was thinking I could do all the repairs myself, and even though I got most of the damaged parts off, it sat for 9 months in my driveway. I finally got off my ass in the fall and had it all worked on. The collision cost me atleast $2,500 in parts and repair including a full brake rebuild I had done at the same time.

In june the engine decided to give up, with 165k miles on it, it developed a flattened lobe and combined with a bottom end knock, it wasnt a cheap fix. I ended up paying $3,200 for a rebuilt 302 from an '85 Ford truck to be put in plus some other things.

I managed to sell it just in time, a few hours before I had to leave for California in the beginning of August. It sucks that I had to pour that kind of money into the car, I actually spent ~$8,500 in all in the maintenance and repair while it was in my ownership. I hate that I had to waste that kind of money but lesson learned. I sold it for $6,200 and in all, it was a fun car to own and ya gotta start somewhere.
