Car is COMPLETELY CHANGED See Page 4!!!

I bought this car in March of 2006 with two things in mind.
1. Replace my ailing Camaro Z28 and Ford Tempo with one car. The Miata get's 30mpg and handles great. Not to mention race tires are cheaper to get for it (14inch rims) than the camaro (16inch). Although the trunk is small it's enough for grocery runs with my fiance and I.
2. Autocrossing! It's the only reasonable thing you can do with a Miata right? I got into autocrossing with my old camaro and had a lot of fun. My only problem was that I had killed a fuel pump and the suspension components were on their way out due to the mileage of the car (160k).
Here's the car less than one week old (I bought it on Monday and autocrossed it on Sunday!)

My Parents '04WRX, Brothers '86 Fiero GT, and my Miata.

Me entering the pits after my second autocross with the car. At this point all mods were visual with gunmetal painted OE wheels with Mazda script in Red on the centercaps and a 2 1/4" chrome tip to mask the rusty tailpipe underneath.

The Lexington Autocross. I had the black oe-civic steelies on the front that I got for free from a friend at work. The dunlops still had some tread I'll be more than happy to burn off at autocrosses so I can use the rims later for rear snowtires.
Only other mod to car at this point was a cheap $22 Cherrybomb Turbo 2 muffler (the old rusty tailpipe fell off at work...)Note the thing hanging on the passenger side is a camera mount. Best video came from side mount instead of trunk.
My cheapo Intake. The air filter is in the right location but that first section of the intake still needs replaced with wider tubing. It, combined with the muffler changes the vocal attitude of the car completely making the lil 1.8 roar...well sorta.
My new Intake, more info on the next page.
My painted calipers. Go ahead and cry ricer but not everyone has money for Brembo's, plus I got bored and the kit was only $15.

I've added a black set of daisy's shod with 195/60 Azenis Rt.615's and boy what a difference in dry traction over the Yoko's. They're also not bad in the wet either it's tempting to drive on these all summer.
I was backed into by a little old lady in a white buick. We were both ok which is all that mattered and I got her insurance info which paid for the repair.

on a side note here's my tiretail with the Falkens on the back ready for transport
Before the incident I had taken the car to the Madison Motorsports Show in Harrisonburg and Dryft Motorsports had a discount on the dyno fee. With no fan pointed at the front of my car (I was one of the first rwd cars to run) and running hot the car pulled 102hp and 96ftlbs running lean. Looks like the next mod will be a fuel related one.
