A story of how it all got started.
This is my car, a Volkswagen that changed the way I see cars. It all began in the 11th grade when my parents decided to give me one; I was ok with it so we began the search. The first Jetta that I found in a lot was okay but it had some aftermarket rims I didn't like, and a window tint that was quite exaggerated, so I kept looking. One day, my parents and I decided to make a trip to a nearby city just to spend some time. After an hour into the road I looked out the window and saw a Jetta in a lot and I asked my dad if I could please see it and he said forget it! I insisted, so we turned around and got to the place where it was. Since my dad was mad for making him stop I knew the car wasn't going to be mine. Once I got in the car, it seemed as if I've found my perfect companion. It had a six cylinder engine which I couldn't believe, leather seats, sunroof etc. I begged for the car for a couple of hours, and finally convinced my dad to buy it. There it was, my new car. I swear, I stared and stared at it thinking about how cool it was, that it made me look retarded. Well, not too long after that day, a huge passion for cars and speed had begun, and it was really weird, as if it all came with the car; maybe it was the Bora effect, I don't know. Ever since, I would constantly think about how I can better the car even more. Time passed and parts started failing. Instead of taking the car to the shop, I called a mechanic over to fix it in my garage so that I could learn new things. This happened several times and unfortunately it did cost me some money on replacement parts, but all this in exchange my knowledge that was very well getting broader. Now, thanks to the car, I know a lot about mechanics, I learned to design my own cars (drawings of course), and even considered automotive design as a career. Several times my parents have suggested to sell the car since it's a little expensive to maintain, but I disagree evey time. I have big plans for the future, such as a complete restoration from inside out, and re-designing everything into something more luxurious and refined, so that I can accomplish my dream of one day turning my Jetta into a work of art.
