Hey everyone, this is a page about my 1999 Pontiac sunfire 4 door. I bought this car off my parents in December 2005... and that is the day that I started modding it.

First up was the stereo system, and since I was working at Future Shop, I bought most of the stuff from them (Future Shop discount is AWESOME). I went with an eclipse deck, infinity speakers, stinger cap/wiring and mtx subs/amps... I'll talk more about specs once I get some pictures up here.

I also re-upholstered the doors, and did a lot of custom work for the speakers. The rear deck is also custom made by me. Since this was my first time making anything like this, all of the work is mediocre at best, and I am sure that if I did it all again it would be a whole lot better... but for now it will do just fine.

The seats all received seat covers courtesy of e-bay... they are definitely not the most expensive or greatest covers out there, but they go well with the colour scheme of my car.

(its the drivers' seat and the bottom part of the bench seat in the back).

Over the past months a lot of interior lighting has been added as well... I am going for a "different" look with mostly red everywhere, but blue accents in interesting places. Currently, the vents glow red and are connected to the backglow of the gauges, and there is red underglow (where you feet are) that is connected to the only non-factory switch that I have installed (I don't want to install tonnes of switches because that gives me a crowded feeling when I'm driving) All the blue led's that are currently in the car turn on when the doors are opened, or when the interior dome light is turned on. The fans in the rear deck also light up red (pictures to come later)

For "performance mods" I have recently installed a custom ractive ram air filter... it feels a little more powerfull I guess, but I mostly did it because of the sound ram air intakes make... it's SWEET.

My exterior is... well, different.
I have attempted to do all of this by myself, in my parking lot, with zero power tools, save my trusty dremel and random orbit sander (powered by my car via a 400W power inverter... haha).

The power inverter is now broken by the way, because I had a bottle of champagne explode in the trunk... put gooey sticky stuff all over my amps too :(

The car used to be a dullish blue colour, but rust and calcium damage was really getting the best of my car, so now it is painted a colonial blue... as far as I know I am the only person to have a car of this colour.

This is what it looked like after I finished sanding it:

I have also shaved the gascap, and while I am very satisfied with the way the relocation part turned out, I still have a lot of bodywork to do where the gascap used to be.

Like everyone, I have a LOT of plans with this car in the future, but there are a few things I plan to do over the next month or 2.

I want to paint my rims (I can't afford after market ones, and the factory ones have a bit of rust on them). They will go flat black with a bit of colonial blue accenting on them.

I want to take out the spare tire well. The main reason for this is because I can't get to my spare tire anymore anyways, because of the sub box, but also it will create room for a project I am planning for the exhaust. Once I have taken everything out of my trunk, I will also dynamat everything before I put everything back in. I want to properly install my amps and everything at that point as well (since currently the amps and cap are all bolted to the sub box, and my secondary battery is strapped to the wheel well.

- UPDATE, the spare tire well is now gone,
and the whole trunk has been redone.
(see pictures further down the page)

After these things are done, I want to create a custom trunk lid (I already have a spare trunk sitting in my room), and do a custom exhaust.

Some quick shots of my trunk... once the weather gets a little bit better I'll fiberglass the whole thing probably.

On the left side you can see the MTX 8001 amp, which powers my subs (800 watts RMS @ 2 ohms).

On the right, on the bottom is the MTX 4002 amp, which powers the rear speakers (100 Watts RMS x 2 channels @ 4 ohms), and on top of that is the MTX 3002 amp, which powers the components in my doors (75 Watts RMS x 2 channels @ 4 ohms). Both those amps are 2 ohm stable, so I'm definitely considering getting some more speakers in there so I can get the maximum power out of those amps.

The capacitor is made by Stinger and has 1.2 Farads and an LED voltage readout. My bass is always very solid, but I don't know if thats mostly due to the capacitor, or due to the second battery. (There is an Optima Redtop in my trunk, but it's difficult to see in the pictures... its on the floor to the far left)

In the top right of my trunk you can also see the gas cap. It was a relatively easy mod, and if I had welded the old gas cap rather than bondo-ing it shut, it would all have turned out very nice. Car gets a lot of looks at the gas station tho...

For safety, I thought it'd be a good idea to throw a fire extinguisher in the trunk as well... haven't needed it yet tho :)

My interior is tan and black... with red and blue lights. All the vinyl was done by me, and in the near future I plan to replace everything with fiberglass.

Some shots of my engine bay... as you can see, nothing too special.
Just a Ractive intake, which makes the engine sound nice and beastly (at least from inside the car).
And you can see my stinger fuseholder.

Center console, with clear heater control knobs.
I want to relocate both the heater controls and my deck, so I will have a massive gap to fit an lcd screen in.

If you have any questions about my car, or how I did certain things, feel free to ask, and I will probably create a page containing a step-by-step guide on how to do it.
