Fuel Management: Once again, I'm not sure how I'm going to get everything to play nice. Someone is trying to convince me to use Megasquirt but I still need to research this quite a bit. I'm really torn between a stand alone system and a piggy back system. I'm leaning towards a full AEM stand alone. If I did that I would probably end up taking it to 3SX to get tuned. However, it seems there's a third option. Someone told me that I could use the ECU out of a 99' and some injectors out of an Evo. Granted I would have to change the harness, which won't be much of a problem as I can just do that when I have the wire tuck done. Ignition: I started with some NGK Copper plugs until the car is done. No sense fouling an expesive set of plugs. I've also installed a set of MSD wires. I still need to figure out if I need to replace the coils and get a controller. Fuel system: I know I'll be needing bigger injectors and a bigger fuel pump. I will also be getting a new fuel regulator. I will probably replace the hard lines as well. Intake: I'm planning on getting an intake pipe kit from Dejon. I'm going to use red silicone couplers for everything and T-bolts. The intercoolers will be larger side mount units. I have replaced the air cleaner with an open Apexi Power Intake. I've pulled the BCS plug to gain a little extra boost. For a BOV I want go with a unit from TiAL and have it recirculate. I would also like to clean up the vacuum system and remove anything I don't need to pass emissions. Thus far I've deleted the EGR. Next up, the EVAP. However, if I go with the 99' ECU I can use an Evo MAF as well. In which case I won't need to mess with the intake pipe. For now I'm going to take out the factory pipes and have them powder coated white in the mean time. Exhaust: I want to replace the entire exhaust, from the turbos back. I might even get a set of headers as well. I want to go with the quad tip setup from IPS. I will be removing the active exhaust and mine seems to work intermittently anyhow. I'm going for a stock look, but not stock sounding. I'll also need to research a muffler and cats. I will be eliminating the pre-cats as well. Turbos: It is going to need some bigger turbos. I still don't know what would be the best option. I'm still in the process of researching this. Right now DR650s seems to be the best choice. Cooling: Thus far the only modification to the cooling system is the addition of some Redline Water Wetter. However, I plan on replacing the upper and lower hoses soon with some metal pipes from IPS. At that time I will be removing the heater core from the system by pulling the feed line and looping the return back into the thermostat housing. Lastly, the radiator looks as though it's been sitting out in the sun. My guess is that this unit replaced another one and my guess is that it was from the junk yard. It has some yellowing. I will be sanding it and painting it black. This will have to do for the time being until I get it replaced with an aluminum radiator. Transmission: The transmission grind going into 2nd and 3rd. There's no dancing around the issue, it's needs to be rebuilt. I'm going to have Jack's Transmissions do a stage 3 rebuild which should be good for at least 800 AWHP. It will give me a 25 spline hardened 300m output shaft and they will rebuild the T-case as well. I am also going to replace the useless VCU with a Torsen center diff from Supercar Engineering. Then I will run it out to the back with an alumnum or CF drive shaft. I will also be upgrading the clutch. It will also be getting some better 1.5 way diffs for the front and rear from Quafie. I'm debating removing the clutch slave cylinder. The shifter is getting replaced with a Seattle STS. It will also be getting some new shifter and base bushings.
