I WILL SHOW THE COIL OVERS HERE, since they are performance!!!!

Ground control coilovers..

ACAutoWerks's 1989 Ford Probe

I cut the spring purch off and welded on a new cradle for my coil-over. It looks a lot cleaner and gives me the option to run bigger wheels. I may run a 19" one lug wheel next year and need the extra room above the tire.

old verses new\/\/

November 2008.......

I took a few pics of the motor and something was missing!!!!!

ACAutoWerks's 1989 Ford ProbeACAutoWerks's 1989 Ford Probe

So I started to build a front strut bar out of stainless.... If you want one for a first gen probe..... let me know!!!!!

I can also build parts for the second gen!!!

ACAutoWerks's 1989 Ford Probe

The finished product polished and looking sweet!!! Check out page 9 for the build.....

If you like what you see, let me know!!!!

The rest is of the motor......

I got bored again..... So I jacked my car up and took the 2.25" exhaust that I made last year off and decided to upgrade once again..... I welded up a full 3", from the turbo back, cat delete and manderel bent.

Last years, 2.25" exhaust next to my freshly made 3" system..... BIG difference!!!

I also decided to finally pick up a TIAL 38mm external waste gate!!!!!

Now mounted up on my custom screamer/ dump pipe!!!!!

The winter of 2007-2008, I started in on the powerplant for the second time. I started out with the original motor that came out of the car.

The motor all packed back in... Notice the stainless manifold and upper strut bar, I hand made both!!! Plus I re-painted the engine bay satin black to clean it up from the silver it was before. Now it has the old muscle car feelin'.

                                                              ACAutoWerks's 1989 Ford Probe

I added a carbon fiber battery cover, made a carbon fiber air diffuser for in front of the rad from the top of the bumper, made a stainless upper rad hose, re-made all the turbo piping, and polished a few more things while I was doing the motor.

I stripped the block down and had it bored 10 over. I then replaced the whole bottom end.

I had a factory forged crank, so bolted to that are crower rods and wiesco pistons with factory stroke and compression.
I had the head re-built with 1mm oversized valves. It is also ported and polished. I havn't replaced the factory cam, that is next on the list.

If you own a first gen probe, then you know that parts are almost unavailable!!! So I ordered a Garrett GT28RS turbo with an internal wastegate. The turbo is a 62 trim with .60a/r, it also consists of a gt25 compressor housing. I ordered it like that so I could bolt my intercooler pipe directly to it, Plus, this car is my daily driver in the summer, so it had to be very streetable!!!

Next, I started on the stainless turbo manifold!! I hand made my own....

Flow matched injectors.

The whole assembly that I made bolted to the motor on the stand, I built the manifold with an external wastegate flange, so I can upgrade latter if need be. Looks pretty good!!!

Before I put it all back in the car, I bolted up a Fidanza light wieght flywheel and an Excedy clutch to keep the power to the wheels.

ACAutoWerks's 1989 Ford Probe

Here are all of my cool NX goodies, my intercooler and my universal pipe kit. The intercooler is now twice that size!!!

The Turbo-XS RFL BOV on my custom adapter.

The intercooler and sprayer keeping things cool.

ACAutoWerks's 1989 Ford Probe

The old intercooler was 28x6x2.75....

My new one is 30x11x3.... There is a deffinate difference, Probably about 7-10 hp!

ACAutoWerks's 1989 Ford ProbeACAutoWerks's 1989 Ford Probe

The motor also has:
Accel 8mm plug wires
Iridium XP Plugs
35 shot of NX... soon to be a wet shot direct injected in the back of the intake.

K+N filter
I soldered in a new Eprom chip to eliminate boost cut..
The boost is now set at 19 p.s.i.

Turbo XS manual boost controller/ want to run greddy electronic..

Tial external wastegate
I fabricated a 3" straight exhaust, no cat and runs under the chassis instead of over, and exits throught an HKS carbon fiber muffler.
