This is my 1987.5 Audi 5000S! Its the old timer of all the cars in my family with 303,500 miles as of 6/29/06! There is such a legacy behind thid car because it has been to 48 states for family vacation after family vacation! It still runs strong and has been great in every aspect! I come from an Audi family where the pride has been around since this car was purchased used in 1991/2 and has since grown in to this becoming my sisters first car, then my first and current car. My sister now drives a 1990 200 TQ, my mom drives a 2000 A6 2.8 Quattro and my dad, the one who used to race a 1986 5000TQ, has a 2002 A6 4.2 Quattro! That car is a BEAST! I wish it was mine but we all have to start somewhere. So back to my car, it is the S model which means there is no turbo, manually adjustable cloth seats, 5 speed, and standard all-wheel drive! Not too much can be done to this car performance wise due to its rarity in the US and since it's turbo'd sibling gets all the attention by tuners. It does have early model Koni adjustable gas shocks from the very early 90's when it was purchased and a K+N air filter since day one. Recently, due to rusting in the exhaust, the two rear resonaters were cut out and replaced with straight piping which really makes the inline-5 howl! I seriously think everyone with a 5000 should do this because it sounds great, reduces some back pressure and some weight also. Cosmetically, Hella lights were put up front since the stock ones aren't so great, S4 replica rims, and the calipers painted yellow. In the near future is a modest black window tint. Enjoy the pictures, more should be posted soon.
