This is my '86 Towncar. It has four Infinity Kappa Perfect 12's in a sealed enclosure in the trunk, running off two JBL power BP1200.1. The amps put out 1400rmsx1 at 2 ohms bridged each. It is stable to 1 ohm stereo, 2 ohms bridged. Up front, there is a Kenwood eXcelon KDC-x815 in-dash CD player (three 4.5 volt pre-outs). This runs my JBL power 4" component sets in the rear deck (these are right next to my custom motorized raising headrests). My center channel is a Infinity Kappa 4" run by a audio control model 11. The pre-outs run into a Alpine subwoofer eq. One of the three preouts from the eq goes to my 50x4 Alpine front amp. The Alpine powers my Infinity Kappa 4" components (in kickpanels), and my Infinity Kappa 6" midbasses (in doors). The second and third set of pre-outs goes to the rear amps. These are the JBL BP1200.1. It will put out 1400watts rms (almost 3000 peak). The amp powers four 12" Infinity Kappa Perfect 12's. These are arranged in a square sealed box, with the box built directly into the trunk of the car. The amps and eq are boxed in under plexiglass on the upper area above the subs. There are two cooling fans on the right to blow air over them. This helps the Alpine, but the JBL's never run too hot, but everything helps.
I have four of these Infinity Kappa Perfect 12's. The sound quaility on these things will blow JL, Rockford, or just about anything else out of the water. They also bump harder than pretty much all of them too. They have huge rubber surronds, a drawn aluminum cones, and deep bumped and vented poles. All in a sealed box in the trunk, the box is built directly into the back of the trunk. They are 350 rms (really about 500RMS), 1400 peak each. www.infinitysystems.com
It can run to 1 ohm in mono. They are rated at 1400x1rms at 2 ohms. They are mounted next to each other on the amp rack behind the plexiglass in the trunk. Their are cooling fans on the right of the box to blow cool air over them. The box is lit up by several lights. www.jbl.com
This is the Alpine front amp. It puts out 50x4rms. Separate Croosover for each set of outputs. Two channels run the Infinity kappa 4" component set, and two run the kappa 6" midbasses. It is in the fan cooled compartment in the trunk. www.alpine1.com These are the rear channels. The midrage has a titanium composite cone, and is in a custom kickpanel box. It magnet is actually 1/2" bigger than the cone. The .5" titanium composite tweeters are on the dash. The set is 150rms, and included JBL crossover plays them from 600hz up to 20K hz. This is my Kenwwod eXcelon in-dash. It has a backlit blue/white and red dot-matrix display, and dual 4.5 volt pre-outs. Motorized faceplate flips over when not in use. It has zero-bit mute for between tracks, ec4 equalizer, KEX, System E's , speaker matching capability, and a bunch of other stuff. It controls the eXcelon CD changer, but has another input for a second changer, maybe for that second CD changer that everyone needs?
