This is my newest project. It is Shelby Lancer #575. It is one 800 originally produced by Shelby Automobiles in Whittier California in 1987. Also, it is 1 of 400 leather/AT cars. The other 400 were cloth/5spd cars. It came with an intercooled 2.2L, but has been replaced with a 2.5. The 2.5 is stock, except for the balance shafts have been removed and the cat has been gutted. Currently it has a rod knock and needs a set of bearings, but is drivable and actually very dependable.
It still has the original Shelby dash plaque, Shelby steering wheel, and the Mobil 1 plaque under the hood. It is missing the original Shelby valve cover, DEX stereo, CS trunk emblem, CS horn button, and black lace wheels. The clearcoat is falling off, typical 80's Mopar, and it could use some new fenders. The ground effects are broken on the drivers side, but the rest are still there and nice.
Plans are to fix the bearings and turn it into a fun daily driver. Maybe open the exhaust up and up the boost a bit. It's a #'d car, but will not be restored to stock. These were meant to be driven and enjoyed, not polished all day long.
