It's been a long time since i've updated but that's becuase i haven't done ANY work on it at all. I've been working 6-7 days a week now. I'm keeping it in the grarge for the winter ad i jsut bought a truck from a friend. Since i wont have this done before college, and it woudlnt be safe to use in snow anyway its being parked. THe new truck...will be staying stock, except for the cd player thats in it and the toolbox im puttign in the back. (to hold the beer)maybe next summer i will have enough time to put into it. Anad if i dont, sitting in a grarge wont kill it.

6/8/07 Graduation is today!! then i don't have school to get in my way!! now its just work, and college. haha Thats nothing serious though. ME and my good friend niko have put fiberglass and bondo on the seams and now its mostly sanding. (Except for under the tail lights (thast a bitch). To make them fit right wiht no gaps i had to make up about 3/4 of an inch.

These are those pictures i promised.

5/8/07
well its been a long time since i updated. college stuff and graduation comming up have kept me busy. But never too busy to spend a few hours in my shop, im only too busy to tell everyone about it. since i last updated i have done a lot of work. i fixed the crack in my bumper, painted the calipers/drums, built and welded/bolted support bars from both bumeprs to the frame (so i can fiberglass the kit to the frame), i build a bracket to fix my antenna, fixed the gap around my cd player, fixed the brakes, and bought new lug nuts. now..i will tell about each one....

the bumper crack was fairly easy to fix...jsut fiberglassed it a little. the calipers and drums me and a friend did in an afternoon and we also started dressing up hte engine with some paint. the supports i did today. I just took some pieces of metal laying around the shop measured htem and cut/bent them to fit..and bolted htem in....but hte rear ones i had to weld into place. i made a bracket so i could put the antenna back into its stock place. i had been without a radio for a long time becuase the z3 fenders didnt line up with teh antenna hole. the gap around my cd player was a really easy fix, i jsut used some epoxy and adjusted the cd player a little. the brake lines i got fit pretty good..so i put those in and adjusted them, so now i can actually stop! last week i broke a lug bolt off...(open end lug nuts rusted) so i took them off...and bought some gorilla lug nuts taht were closed end. ($1.20 each) and like $8 for hte key. its an easy fix...changing the broken lug bolt wasnt that hard either. if anyone needs 19 lugnuts and hte key...jsut pay the shipping on them? haha (if you wnat hte one iwht the broken lug bolt you can have 20) haha personally i woudl suggest you save your money because they rust....but if you need cheap lug nuts that will do it?
if it wasnt dark outside i would take pictures to post on here of the new things i did, but i didnt park it inside...my shop has junk everywhere becusause i havent had time to clean it yet. (thats why i was able to find metal laying around for those brackets) ive been doing lots of work on friend's vehicles this month...haha

3/22/07
Have you ever had a day where not a fucking thing worked right? I finshed fiberglassing the bumper last night...put it back on today..and hten i went to dads to replace rear brake lines (had a leak...) well the brakes went completely out...and i now have a crack in the front bumper...(at least it happened in his driveway)....so now i have to fiberglass more...its a damn good thing i work well wiht htat shit....but after all that...it completely split 2 brake lines...so im saying fuck it and getting all new ones....braided steel

Holy...It's done!!! 2/9/07 ....its done! i got an inspection sticker and drove it home!!! now its just minor things to do...like hidden antenna...new filler tube...and fiberglass the body kit before paint..Ill have new pictures up by tomorrow!

2/11/07 Im not sure what to say other htan it exists? haha..i did a few test drives and tuned it up a little. It runs a little rough for some reason...at first it lost power and kicked every once in a while. But the superunleaded and ignition cleaner fixed that pretty quick. (that was also a bad idea because about 1/8 of hte tank drained out from that stupid filler tube on the way home) after school im going back to the shop with it to weld taht tube and fix a rear brake like that i noticed was losing fluid. (the rear brakes still work for now) haha anyway...i said i would have picutres up...i only took 1..so ill take more tomorrow and upload all of them at once.
List to do this week/weekend
#1 sand and fiberglass body kit
#2 Paint engine, rad. support, and calipers
#3 sand hte rest of the car, and prime it
2/13/07
Well, yesterday we welded the filler tube and put in a new brake line. It ran fine without kicking at all. Which is good. And now im no longer using half a tank of gas to drive home? haha i love my new clases. it gives me most of hte day to stay home and work on my car before going to school. (high school) There is supposed to be a big storm this week so i might end up parking it for the winter. and last night, my bumper kissed the ground for the first time? it wasnt that bad..jsut a scratch and its going to be sanded anyway. tomorrow is probably hte worst holiday made, i think the superbowl is a better holiday....and i have to go get jodi a present today..so im out

3/10/07 Yea, it's been a while with work high school, and college. I fiberglassed the back bumper this morning. It had minor scratches in it from driving...and i fixed all of those. Next saterday I'm going to finish all of the fiberglassing...Then i have to search paint for a pain shop. (id like to do it myself..becsue ive done everyhitng else myself except for the occasional help from dad, but ive never painted a car before.)so it's getting there...slowly heres pics from this morning...sorry they look like shit but i forgot my camera at home but i remembered my cell phone....evne htough they suck i think the v3 razr still tkaes them pretty good for a cell phone

This is my first car. I only paid $500 for it. It was in an accident but there wasn't much damage. The last owner wasn't watching the road and everyone else saw the stop light.

I bought it cheap and then it became a project for me and my dad. It's not completely done yet but last night I finished the hardest part. I expected to spend over $2000 in parts, but I've done a lot better than I thought. (only $538).
Features

When i first bought it, I wasn't long figuring out that it was raced many times. There is an old airstip less than a mile from my house and everyone races there, including this car. When i bought it the car had a K&N cold air intake, Flowmaster tip, a clutch kit, and other little performance parts.

The first visual part seen is hte custom paint job. The interior matches with the outside all over. After buying the car I have ran into some trouble with htat. I couldn't buy the cd player I wanted to because I have to stick with the blue. There wasn't even a cd player in the car when i bought it, and the stock radio was in the truck broken, so I had to get soemthing for it. I ended up getting a Dual cd player for it. Then I got pioneer speakers to fill the gap from the ones missing in the back of the car.

The hardest part of this project was fixing the front end. We had to replace the radiator support, bumper, hood, and pretty much everythign else on the front end. As of now all I am looking for is headlights, and turn signals.

Soon I'm sending it out to be painted. The parts I got were not available in my color so I decided I would put them on, sand them down and then send hte whole car to the paint shop for a touch up. After it gets back from the paint shop I can put the Konigs on it. It sucks that I can only get 17's on it without a lift but they will do.

7/7/06 I just took bigdaddycormdog's advice and this morning I ordered the TYC headlights w/ signals. I'm hoping they will be in by sunday but UPS doesn't run on Saterday. Not much left to go, just the grill and radiator fans now. Those I can pick up Friday at a local place. Next week I'm either getting the hood scoop or the body kit. I'm not sure yet.

7/17/06
I haven't updated in a while. The radiator I got is the wrong one so I had to send that back. I got my headlights, and they kick ass

I worked on the car today, and got a little more done. I forgot my camera at home (again) so i dont have any pictures. I didn't get too much done, I just put in the battery tray fixed the dent in the fender (still noticable) and started hooking up ground wires. Before I send the car to the paint shop I will have to go get the body kit. (I planned on getting that in the spring). The dent is still there. I did as much as I could without scratching the paint but it's there. I messed up and broke some kind of sensor. I'm not exactly sure what it is but when I was tightening it it broke. I need OE headlight wiring for the car. The wiring that is on there now is for the angel eye headlights. Starting Monday I work 7 days a week until my senior year starts, so the car will be parked all month now. Unless I get some time Sunday. I would like to have a radiator and spend all day Sunday working on it and hopefully get it done. (there is only a fews left needed). Right now its mostly putting parts back on that we took off. After the radiator goes in we can put everything back on.

7/21/06
I talked with my dad about the fender and he agreed with me. He always thought the body kit was a bad idea but now he agrees with me on it. The body kit I'm looking at comes with fenders so I can get rid of the other one. Myself I'm not very sure about a body kit becuase the roads here suck. At least the 17's will keep the car somewhat off of the ground. Today I'm going to order my radiator and have saterday delivery done on it. Sunday is the last day I can work on it. I start 7 days a week for buleberry season. (Thats where I make real moeny instead of my pocekt change $300 a week.) The car sit at the shop for a month. So after sunday I won't be updating until probably September?

7/22/06 (just after midnight)
I just confirmed with my dad that we are putting in a full day sunday. I don't think I will have a radiator but there is lots more to do. I will bring my camera this time. We will probably work on getting everythign else done then when the radiator comes in we can just install it and go get a sticker for the car. I think I might get a set of fender flares after I get the body kit on. I'm not sure but it's just a thought.

7/22/06
More good news. My tires/rims came in the mail this morning. UPS delivered them to the shop. I have almost everything now. Sunday I have a place I can go get my headlight wiring and battery temp sensor. The hardest part is finding that stupid radiator.

7/23/06
It's done!!! All I need is a few last things. I need to get a radiator for it. All of the body work is done until I pick a body kit. (Please vote!!!) Right now all of the stock parts are on it. I have set a date and August 10th I am going to order a body kit and then send it to the paint shop. Right now the car is completely repaired from the accident. When I get the radiator in then all we have to do is wire in the cd player and put the rims on.

That's the new bumper, It's not blue but it's only staying until I get the body kit, then I'm selling it off. (all of hte stock parts im getting rid of are going to be sold.) So if you need bumpers, or fenders ask me? I'll sell them $25 a bumper and $50 a fender?

This is the set of rims/tires I'm putting on it after it is painted. I think it will be a nice finishing touch (jsut a little dirty, I got them the day i got hte car, so they have been sitting around for about a month. They got burried in parts from the other projects.)

7/24/06 I just got new pedals in the mail this morning. I was also wondering about a LED blue undercar kit from Varad? I'm going to get insurence quotes this afternoon for it. I think I can get it fairly cheap. I need more votes before August 10th!!! I think amybe tonight I'll order that radiator. Even though I won't have time to put it in. At least I'll have it.

8/10/06 "Welcome to the land where it just dont stop, Trunks pop , tops drop , and the front end hop, Pank flop screens on , actin bad in my zone, Yeah it's on , ridin chrome , ballin at my home" - Project Pat

It's here, ordering day! which also happens to be a shut down day...so i got the day off from work too :) ok, i would to thank all of you that voted, and fuck all of you that didnt? haha no im just messin with ya...umm tonight ill be ordering the spider kit with the Z3's. i got my insurance quote... then i have to save up to send it to the paint shop. I think i'll send it to Macco. I'll add the body kit then send it out.

A few hours and $549 later...its ordered..I'm not sure what day it will get here but i can't wait? Its like christmas....My goal for this is to get car of hte year for my senior year at NHS. I think i will have it easily..not much competition..haha not much at all

8/20/06 Holy take long enough...it wont be here until the 5th of september that sucks...I need this thing done now..I'm going to get the last parts tomorrow and add them..then after i put hte body kit on ill drive it to the paint shop that night...school starts the 6th i think...so i have to have it done by at least the 10th...

8/24/06 Yesterday was my last day with Darryl. (leaseholder for Jasper Wyman&son) So I'm done work for about 2 weeks...until I start my after school job...I ordered my radiator last night, and that will be here Saterday. Tonight when i get home from UMM orientation I'll order my last parts. a decal, tires, AEM Cold air intake w/ Bypass Valve.

(hours later) It's all done, all the parts will be sent out and here soon..I can't wait to finish this..My class starts sooner than I thought (next thursday) so i have to get htis done...It won't be painted in time for my class so I will go with a friend until the car is out of hte paint shop...I can't get it paitned until the body kit comes in, The 5th...but it's almost done now...

8/28/06 Today is hte day most of my parts come in. My vinyl is already here because that came Priority Mail. They didn't waste any time cutting it and sending it to me.. check them out (signspecialist) they will make it however you want it.

8/30/06
Driving your newly rebuilt car is probably hte best feeling ever..haha we got it running tonight..I only drove it outside to the normal parking spot because for some reason the alt. wasnt charging? all thats left is the body kit, which came early and we started working on. The damn Z3's aren't lining up right and are really making me mad. At least its running, I get my intake tomorrow, or i hope so they never gave me a tracking number... I cant wait..it will be done soon :)

Damn, its behind by about a week now. We are having trobule with the Z3's..we figrued out how we will do it though. We plan to make our own brackets and use some body work epoxy to put the brackets onto the fenders, then bolt them on. We fell behind because we decided to do the brakes first so we can get it inspected before it goes to the paint shop. We spent hte last few days changing and adjusting brakes so they work good. Then we ran the alt. wire the way it was meant to go. He had it set up like it was an accessory wire, directly to the battery. We got that changed and then found out it wasnt charging. So now I have to send that out to be rebuilt. Another day on the brakes, interior lights, speakers, and cd palyer. Then we can do the body kit. We will make the brackets and glue them on a few days before bolting them onto the car...Then we can get all of hte inspection and registration overwith and get it paitned finally...

9/11/06
Things are going a little slower than we planned, other stuff is getting in the way. Only 2 weeks until votes go out for best car. (for my senior year) 1 week to work, the next is for the paint. The back bumper is finally on, and we changed more brake parts i had to get, (wheel cylinder, and a caliper). Now its just hte body kit. Fenders, and Front bumper. I am also waiting on my intkae, but i can get it inspected without that if i have to. I need to get this thing legally on the road so i can get it painted. Then i will worry about the sound system, vinyls, intake, and things like that.

If you notice before it will get inspected we have to bend the pipe about an inch to the left. We plan to do that about midway through the pipe. Of course the bracket is broken too so we will make one from stainless to hold it in place.

9/16/06
Here is a new pic of my fenders, finally got htem done today.

We got a lot more than that done today, bent the exahust pipe, heat shrinked the wires on hte cd player, started messing with his wiring job, put the intake on, and started on the bumper. They body kit i got is probably the worst quality thing i have ever seen. we have spent 2 days making out own brackets for the fenders, hten glueing htem on. They really really suck. dont buy one, save your money for something better.
9/26/06
Well' its been a while since i have had time to work on it. senior year is a bitch...the guy is comming today to give me my lugnuts, and sign my title the right way..(i had the car, but he still had the title) haha not a smart idea. I spent 5 hours last night working on a freinds truck while he watched and handed me tools? haha put in a set of fog lights that came with my car, they wotn fit the body kit so i gave them to him. It was a pain, dont ever buy a ford...haha they suck...it worked out ok..i got them put in on a toggle switch after a few hours of messing with them in the cold...(i hate maine) too damn cold here

i finally got my lugnuts and i think tomorrow night should be it...2 bolts on the front bumper, change the tires, put the alternator on, and drill the holes for the side skirts/put fender wells back in...and then i can take it for a drive...it will definetly be at night cuz its like 5 colors...haha then i can take it to get painted...i cant wait...i also have a set of angel eye fog lights i found...(they kick ass) and i will have to put them on tomorrow too.

10/18/06 Ive been way too busy to work on my car, with college applications and stuff....i worked last weekend and plan to work sunday..I lost a lug nut some time and i have to get another one... I plan to get it from VIP or Eastcoast Performance. All thats left is the alt. bumper, and the lugnut..a friend of mine is talking about selling off his subs and amp so i might get those from him...I plan to make a plexi glass box for them and put neons inside it. I have a feeling this will be a never ending project because i have a lot of new ideas i want to add..

Fucking piece of junk pisses me off....we FINALLY got the adapter for the crank sensor...now hte car wont take a charge at all...the alt. was rebuilt by bonded auto..and the battery wont take a charge....I have no clue at all when it coems to the charging system, i do engines...so im taking it to a local guy...im just about to give up on this thing...right now the only way it stays running is on jumper cables....after they are taken off it runs for about 5 minutes. after the car dies the battery still reads 12 volts....it has me, my dad and the other guys at the shop lost...we hooked diagnostics up to it and various testers and still cant figure it out. (fucking junk)

It's been a long time...so i decided i should let everyone know the new problems it's having..(yes, i know i bought a piece of junk, but thats the fun!) well, me and dad worked on the charging system a while ago and never determinded why it wasnt charging. I called a local guy who knows a LOT about charging systems. He told me how to fix it over the phone. I told him i had a rebuilt alternator...and it stil lwasnt charging. He told me it was the voltage regualtor, and on dodge neons, thats in the ecu. I have a mopar performance ecu and i didnt want to throw that out so he told me a trick that i thoguth i hsoudl share with anyone else having this problem. He had me get 2 parts. a voltage regualtor and pigtail harness from a 76-84 chrysler (any dodge, chrysler, or plymouth) you can buy the voltage regulator at a store but you have to find a junk car for hte pigtail...i went ot a local salvage yard (ricky santarre) and found a 76' dodge ram...after i foudn the parts i called him and we decided saterday morning we would do it.. after $30 an hour he checked eerythign and spliced the new part into the charging system...and after all of that my battery STILL wasnt charging..so he did a lot more tests and kept getting errors.. after a while we finally got the same reading twice in a row..my alternator was only putting out 14amps...of 37..my rebuilt alternator is no good....so no i get to go buy another one...i have the best luck ever...the only hting thats worked on this car so far is hte cd player and the seat belt. and i cant listen to that much music before hte battery goes dead!

I probably won't be able to update for a while because my new early college class is a bitch. It's easy, but huge ass homework assingments. plus i have to go to the high school in Harrington, then to Machias, then back to the high school. Its a messed up schedule. I like the loophole in it though. Every other week my college class and yearbook are on the same day. (monday wednesday friday) and on tuesday and thursday i dont have to be to school until 1!!! that will give me a lot more time at the shop

Here is just a list of websites that i have ordered parts from that might be helpful to some of you:

Radiator Support Green Point Auto
Headlights(Elegante by TYC) Body Kit w/ Z3's Racer Wheel
Radiator, Radiator.com
AEM Cold Air Intake with Bypass Valve, Cox Imports
Custom windshield Lettering SignSpecialist

These are all of the places that I got my parts from, I hope you can find these useful to your project.
