AEM WBo2 - very important tuning tool!

Got rid of my previous trans temp gauge..

 Check out the difference,

2.25" crimp bends vs. 3" Mandral bends.

Edelbrock Strut tower Brace and a Trans-dapt 1" Throttle body spacer.

Also running Taylor Vertex Wires and an MSD cap & rotor (practically same cost as standard parts).

Below is what the engine looked like bone stock when I got it. around 112K miles

Cleaned up the Engine bay a little more by deleting the heater hoses that run over the passenger side valve cover, and painting the intake manifold silver.

I scored some Tail light assemblies off an '87 Trans Am, that a buddy parted out.

Just picked up a 3.73 auburn posi rearend with disc brakes! purchased from a friend, was originally from a '83 Firebird S/E. Here are some install pics

Pulling the old Drum rear out..

fiveoformula's 1988 Pontiac Firebirdfiveoformula's 1988 Pontiac Firebird

This was probably the easiest Drum-to-Disc brake conversion ever. The original brake lines bolted right up, only thing to really worry about was hooking up the parking brake cables that are disc specific. Soon I will need either an adjustable proportioning valve or a stock valve for a 4 wheel disc car to insure the proper brake pressure going to the rear, but as of now, they are functioning.

Borg-Warner T5 swap!

Took a weekend to swap out the 700R4 for the T5 then another day to figure out the clutch problems I had, but all in all, this is probably the best thing I have ever done to this car, also had to have the Hurst shifter :)

I'll always love the Formula. I wanted to buy a 91-92 model but I couldn't find any decent ones. Very clean Bird, really like the TA lights on the back too. Your car is TBI correct?
