347 Stroker Build

protowrxs's 1969 Ford Mustang Having been gather parts for some time the 347 is just about ready for assembly. It is a basic build: Scat kit, capscrew rods, forged pistons, Trick Flow Stage I cam, roller lifters, with Twisted Wedge heads. Not a screamer but should make plenty of power for the weekend cruiser this car is going to be. Combined with the 100 dry shot of Zex I'm sure it will light my fire.

I started out with a basic 5.0 roller block that had already been cleaned, bored, and checked. Had a machine shop clearance for the stroker which ended up being very minimal. The rotating assemble was balanced and checked by a high performance shop and the clearances checked by myself with everything falling into place.

The pic above is the dry assembly with the Mellings high volume pump and Milodon pickup test fit. The balancer is just pushed on for review. I also deburred the block to some degree smoothing out some casting flash and cleaning up the sharp edges. I chamfered the drain oil drain back holes as well.

On the back side this ending will have a billet flywheel, a clutch to yet be determined and a McLeod scatter shield protecting my feet. Picked up the scatter shield NIB from another Stanger and saved a good penny which was nice. Next pics should be the assembled shortblock after a power washing and cleanup of the block.

good luck with your car and i got the shelby decklid and extensions from johns mustang out of texas and they come in decent shape but to be perfect it takes a lot of time and i will try to se if i have any pctres of installation and if you do run a t-5 transmission make sure its rebuilt to handle because my engine is relatively stock and the tranny will not hold the power
