protowrxs's 1969 Ford MustangMoving along - Since then I have had the front clip media blasted and had to replace the passenger shock tower and battery apron. Took some time but turned out well. I also installed a shock tower re-inforcement kit as seen in this pic.

protowrxs's 1969 Ford MustangAlso have installed front slotted rotors and new calipers, pads and braided lines along with some home built roller perches to finish out the front suspension and brakes.

protowrxs's 1969 Ford MustangI ended up buying the Unisteer manual rack and pinion due mainly to the cost factor but also the point that I really didn't want to mess with a power steering pump. The rack fit in nicely and actually clears my old Headman headers with only some slight adjustments.

protowrxs's 1969 Ford MustangTKO Time - I modified an existing FMX automatic trans cross member to mount up the TKO using the existing holes. Looks like 1/4 to 1/5 inch clearance on the top of the trans which should be perfect. Plus the output shaft is very close to the original C4 location which should keep drivetrain alignment in order.

protowrxs's 1969 Ford MustangThis is a pic of the in progress re-design of the trans mount. It keeps the trans up tight without creating other issues and lets me re-use an existing drive shaft that I had around.

protowrxs's 1969 Ford MustangThe shifter fits nicely in the existing hole with just some slight trimming. Since the TKO has a centered shifter the hole was slightly off but otherwise things fit nicely.

good luck with your car and i got the shelby decklid and extensions from johns mustang out of texas and they come in decent shape but to be perfect it takes a lot of time and i will try to se if i have any pctres of installation and if you do run a t-5 transmission make sure its rebuilt to handle because my engine is relatively stock and the tranny will not hold the power
