Moving along - Since then I have had the front clip media blasted and had to replace the passenger shock tower and battery apron. Took some time but turned out well. I also installed a shock tower re-inforcement kit as seen in this pic.
Also have installed front slotted rotors and new calipers, pads and braided lines along with some home built roller perches to finish out the front suspension and brakes.
I ended up buying the Unisteer manual rack and pinion due mainly to the cost factor but also the point that I really didn't want to mess with a power steering pump. The rack fit in nicely and actually clears my old Headman headers with only some slight adjustments.
TKO Time - I modified an existing FMX automatic trans cross member to mount up the TKO using the existing holes. Looks like 1/4 to 1/5 inch clearance on the top of the trans which should be perfect. Plus the output shaft is very close to the original C4 location which should keep drivetrain alignment in order.
This is a pic of the in progress re-design of the trans mount. It keeps the trans up tight without creating other issues and lets me re-use an existing drive shaft that I had around.
The shifter fits nicely in the existing hole with just some slight trimming. Since the TKO has a centered shifter the hole was slightly off but otherwise things fit nicely.
