protowrxs's 1969 Ford MustangLatest updatePicked up a GT40 intake and C&L 4.6L GT pipe to finish out the induction system. More on Page 3

protowrxs's 1969 Ford MustangThe way it was - Pic from the late 80's when the car was still running. I purchased this car when I was 15 (ok, my parents helped me purchase this car) in 1974. It was my first and was jacked up much higher than is shown here. I had to wait 6 months before I could legally drive it... long wait.
protowrxs's 1969 Ford MustangThe car was loads of fun and ate up loads of money in the process. The best the car ran was an 8.02 at a 1/8 mile track. I never got to a 1/4 track but understand that should be a solid 12 second quarter. It was a 306, boss 302 crank, HD (football head) rods, 289 HiPo heads with ported exhaust, a Ford solid cam, F4B intake and 780cfm carb with a C6 trans and 5.14 gear.
protowrxs's 1969 Ford MustangThe was it IS - This is the state of the car as of 06/2006.. in the middle of a ground up rebuild. This time around it will have a 306 or 331, AFR or equal heads, Ford EFI, T5 or better trans, and 4.11 posi rear... eventually. She will be leveled out with 18" wheels and tires under the fenders, adding rear disc as well. It's only time and money.

good luck with your car and i got the shelby decklid and extensions from johns mustang out of texas and they come in decent shape but to be perfect it takes a lot of time and i will try to se if i have any pctres of installation and if you do run a t-5 transmission make sure its rebuilt to handle because my engine is relatively stock and the tranny will not hold the power
