bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle

bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Old rotted firewall body mount.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Used ones from a yard in the south.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Here's the same ones after i trimmed the old floor pans off and media blasted them.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle The floor is rotted beyond being saved. It looks like a metal quilt. Needs 1 peice floor pan, all body mount braces, rear pan under seat, inner and outer rockers, and both front toe pans. Thats a lot of work. Or..........
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle I could install this complete floor pan and toe pans.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Well i finally broke down and purchased it. Man is it huge!
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Two twelve foot sticks of 1x1 steel square tube. This what i'm bracing the body with while the floor is getting cut out and put back in.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Now it is all measured, cut, and welded in. Time to cut out the cancer.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Here we go.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Rear floor pan gone.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Old floor. Anybody need a quilt?
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Rockers cut out.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Another view.

bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Dryfit on the floor.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle The floor is in. Now i just have to weld it in yet.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Well it's partially welded in.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Cut out the pieces of the driver side toe pan that were rotted.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Here's the new firewall lower fender mount/inner rocker panel attaching panel. I fabbed it out out of some storage shelves that were laying around.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Comparison pics of old parts and newer better condition ones. The piece beside the new one came off the cab mounts i bought from N.C.,not off the chevelle.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle The piece on the left is an actual part off this chevelle. If this gives you any indication of the level of neglect this car has seen.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle The driver side toe pan going in.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Inside pic of the same panel.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle New panel i fabbed up installed
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle New cab mount installed. I painted the cab mounts with por15 before welding them in. I just wish to have 3 70 degree days in a row while im off work to paint the interior and underside with por15.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle I just had to see how the new carpet looked in there. Now i really want this floor done.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Time to stop screwing around. I fabbed up the passenger side bracket and welded it in.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle There now the pass side toe pan is in.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Interior pic of the pass side toe pan installation.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Here's frank cleaning up the drill holes on the 4 speed hump. He's a hell of a worker.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Put the floor pan plugs in.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Started installing the steering column and harness connections.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle View of the rear seat pan.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle The side reinforcement braces had to be cut out and cut apart, cleaned, and welded back in so they would fit properly. While they were out i now had access to weld in the rest of the panel behind it. Once that was done i seamsealed them.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Hers the drivers side sealed up. Also the bracket is sat in front of it for a dry fit.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Welded the seat brackets on, cleaned the threads on the sealbelt bolt holes, And but not least sealed the inner wheel wells at the floor. Frank did the pass side, i did the drivers side.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Here's the reinforcements cut to size and positioned to fit the side panels then welded flush to the floor.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Finally put the new pass side cab mount on and finished that side of the floor.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle AHH seamsealer.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Finished the left front floor.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Started putting the interior back together.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle New parts.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Installed the 4 spd shifter hump, and the console rear mounting bracket.
bubba271's 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Body plug that i got, from my friends over at muscle cars only.

Very nice ride, definitely a five starPlease come and check out our 1984 CJ-7, We Call B.O. "Blue Ox" It was hand built with help from Randy's Off Road Connection in Marysville, WA. Clean this thing up and you will win trophies at the local truck show. The front and rear axles were built by CURRIE ENTERPRISES. They both are 6 LUG DANA 44's w/ 11" brake kit and 4:56 gears. The Jeep also has Curries heavy duty rock crawler tie rods, drag links and steering box brace kit. The rear axle has the DETROIT LOCKER and the front has ARB AIR LOCKER. It was lifted 6 inches with Curries rock crawler springs that are connected to the frame with welded Currie spring hangers. NO LOW HANGING SHACKLES HERE" We get the power to them thru curries balanced custom rock crawler CV drive shafts. It rolls on Mickey Thomson rims W/ 35" SUPER SWAMPER SSR's. I also had them sipped for more wet weather/ winter traction. I keep her riding smooth with RANCHO RS9000 shocks. If it gets stuck I can pull her out with the Warn HS9500I winch. The paint is glacier blue with black interior Water proof bucket seats and full custom roll cage.

you putting factory AC on an AC car or something else? If you are then its pretty straight forward. New O-rings and new dryer. I adjusted my POA valve for R134 and the temps got to 30* out the vents on a fairly warm day. I cant remember how much I did but I think it was a quarter turn. Ill have to look it up.
