New Engine Build Up
Rebuilt head (benched, 3 angle valve job, new guides)
I'm going to use lifters out of an LT5 ZR1 Vette. They are lighter and anti pump up
Engine assembly
Here is the block all cleaned up and read to get plastigauged.
It check out good so it's all going together!
I checked the end play with my magnetic dial indicator and it checks out good.
Installed my 10.5:1 pistons with the new Hastings (moly) rings.
I put on the new Melling oil pump and found it gets in the was of one of my ARP main studs so I had to "mod" it a little with a file.
Here is my new Fel-Pro "perma-dry" oil pan gasket
This is the new Fel-Pro main crank seal (look how much better it looks compared to the old one)
Well the bottom end is all set now! Next I can install the top end.
Here it is with the ARP head studs and 086 head installed
