The Story
This is my 96 Chevy S10 it started out as my daily driver while I worked on my 93 Mazda B2200 cab plus (see my other page).
I actually managed to leave it bone stock for about a year, then the itch started on it as well.
First I figured I would just do a nice sound system. So I went out and repaced the factory cassette deck with a JVC Cd player. Then with in days I had to add on so I went out and got a pair of JL audio 10s with new eclipse speakers in the stock locations. At that time I just used the JBL amps that I had in the Mazda. It sucked while crusing then because I had a badass system but nothing to look at so I went out and got the 18" Prime MOMO Arrow knock offs with some free 225/40-18 Pirelli P zeros that I got off a Porsche. With the new wheels there was a huge fender well gap so I went out to get a typical 3" drop kit for the rear and cut the springs up front. Putting up with it for a few months I grew tired of the bumpy ride. I found a pair of old firestone 2500# bags that had a small leak in them filled them with fix a flat, made some cups and slapped on some spindles for the front. (those bags are still in the truck up front and going strong) For the rear I used air shocks and removed all the leaf springs with the exception of the main and over load. To get it closer to the earth I cut down all the bump stops off. Pretty soon I found a pair of 2600# bags out at a junk yard and made my first step notch on it. Soon the leaf springs came off and on came a 2 link set up. Not too long after I got in a wreck (smashed into a cow (what do you expect I live in Texas) that is where the Envoy set up came in to play. At that point I had the truck painted and shaved. Along with the revamp I replaced the stereo with a Sony xplode and replaced the amps as well with MTX and added 2 more 10" JL subs. For the newly aquired subs I cut the rear wall and made a huge box for 4 10s. To cover the box I aquired a fiberglass tonneu cover from my work (the new parts truck @ work had it on, they had no use for it) By this time the S10 was kicking ass.

this is what happens to chrome wheels after you let them sit for 2.5 years

but with some polish and effort

thinking about selling the wheels kinda like the positive offset better what do you think
heres a quick peek at the interior for now

This is the truck in its prime pics were taken 01-02

here are some old school pics I found while searching for the remote to open the doors let me know what you think they were taken some time in 99-2000

back then it was just a simple ride (Bags n spindles up front no step yet with air shocks out back)

Damn truck is still very dirty @ this point but I couldnt wait to post a new pic
Its been over 2 years that the trucks been sitting, I finally got to work on it and got it drivable, but it needs a shit load of work so this coming week Im cleaning it up, building the speaker box, and hopefully get started on the interior (its completely bare right now.
Things Ill be working on will be installing the fog lamps that Ive had in the closet for several years now along with the brand new 3 year old Pioneer subs (I wanted to do a budget system that still kicks ass) Installing the carpet rebuilding the door panels with some tweed and some new door speakers. In about 2 months or so Im aiming on repainting it black up top and candy copper orange on the lower half
