Here are my 2 1/2" to OEM rolled lip exhaust tips

Below is what I started with: two OEM style stainless rolled lip extensions and two 2 1/2" to oval transitions from Spintech.

Using a bandsaw, I cut the two pieces so that the width was the same on both.

They lined up nicely.  They're installed now and look very factory, but I haven't taken any pics yet of the finished exhaust.

On the way home from our local Mustang club meeting, I heard an ominous noise emanating from the passenger side of the engine.  I nursed it home and pulled the VC, as it sounded like I had lost a rocker arm.  What I saw was that and more.  The valvespring was broke into three pieces, and the valve was stuck down.  Not a good sign.

I pulled the head and found that the valve had smacked the piston pretty hard.  Below a re pics of the carnage.

I had replaced the springs that came with these heads with Comp Cams beehive springs in the mistaken belief that they would survive a high RPM excursion better.  I was cruising home at 2400 RPM, so they didn't hold up very well. I've quit working on the car now so I can concentrate on remodeling my house.  This took all the wind out of my sails.

Really nice ride. I'm very interested in your front suspension. Did you make your own control arms? What length/rate front springs are you using? I assume the spindle is the Willwood ProSpindle? Is it's Ackerman angle similar to the original spindle?cheersJames

Nice update - remove those extra blank pages though. I updated my Mach 13 page 5 with stuff from last 2 months. Come look and leave me some fresh feedback. -Nick

Yeah, I wish I had a Mach 1 like that. I updated my webpage today. Check out my suspension project.
