Alas...poor Ole Red blew a head gasket right when I had absolutely no time to fix her, and needed transportation badly (a day and a half before an out of town cerification exam for work). She was traded in on 10/28/06 for my yelloy Ford Ranger. On a positive note: the dealership gave me $1000 for her on trade ;-)
Newest pics with wheels from the old parts truck and new 235/75/15 Kenda All Seasons installed:
Here is the latest tweeks on Ole Red (7/23/06):
Junkyard fresh Steel Horse Automotive sill plates
and painted the window trim and windhield wiper arms (you can't tell from any of the pictures, but the windshield was busted...I put a new on in last week)
I was in the right place at the right time and found this truck for a very good price. It is a 1986 Bronco II XL with a 2.9L V-6, FM146 5-speed manual transmission, Borg Warner manual 1350 transfer case, manual hubs, 30X9.50X15 AT tires on stock wheels, with about 220,000 miles on it. It runs like a top! Drives pretty good, too. I've cleaned it up, and I'm gonna put new plugs, wires, rotor, and distributor cap on it. I will also change all the fluids in it, and put a new round of shocks and 235X75X15 AT tires on it. Other than that, it's gonna stay stock and be my new daily driver. Please sign my guestbook and let me know what you think...
And, yes, it is capable of going offroad and playing in the mud. Even on street tires it does ok. But the 31's from my other truck will not fit with the stock suspension.
