Hi I'm Nick this is my 1985 Monte Carlo...shes my first car and first love shes all stock..but not for long it has MINT condition red interior and a 231 cui 3800 3.8L v6 id rather a 305 or 350 but with the price of gas I consider myself lucky with what I have. I got it for my 16th birthday when my dad gave me 500 bucks for a car, I had been saving up for a wile from my job and finally picked her up for 1300 she has 203,000 clicks on her ass right now but the lady I bought it from had it from brand new and kept it in good shape the whole thing was stripped down to bare metal in 1996 and repainted. Then after the lady brought a man in to do the pinstriping on the cars "curves" Ive known this car all my life and ever since I was a kid I wanted it. Then she got a new Grand Prix and it was jus sitting and I immediatly went to get her. my planns are a K&N air system, rims and dual exzaust and a steario I dont wanna do to much to her cuz she looks so good the way she is but yeah...ive always wanted to supe up a car and now I can and shes the perfect project to work on. i wanna drop in a v8 liek i said before but for now until I can afford the gas for 1 a v6 is goo enough for me...I ant rich. here she is enjoy
Well I got some bad news november 13th 2006 I was driving home from work on the service road and by the local robins donuts shop 2 semis were parked on both sides of the road wile running in to get a quick coffee I suppose, wile on this curve I was going about 60km/h....squeezing between 2 semis wile on a curve on fresh ice I made it fine turning back into my lane a guy came wippin around the corner into my lane I slammed my brakes losing grip I started pumping wen it was too late I fishtaled into the front end of this assholes accent....my fauly for hitting him I got pinned for it even though I had the right of way n he was in my lane but hey..wat can ya do
his car was without a scratch...carla however was in rough shape eh....her impact zone was the rear drivers side fender it was too much for the old girl 21 years later after rollin of the line brand new shes done. SGI the insurance place from where I live inspected my carla they told me that the impact zone was definatly my fender...no shit eh then they said that beacuze my frame was rusted underneith(common on all GM G body cars) it shifted and offset my trunk lid and collapsed my back bumper totaling it off for $3360. the day i gave her up i cleaned her out at home n i drove it to the total loss center n she seemed like she didnt wanna go the choke light came on n it would cough n fart n the sorryer i felt the better she ran weird eh..2 weeks later my friend and i went to sgi to look for some parts for out 83 malibu were turining into a sleeper i recognized 2 doors and a hood and a red bench seat n i felt sick we went into the junk yard and there poor carla was the only thing left on her was her dented fender thats the last i saw of her......kind of a sick love story hahahaa
I now am the proud owner of a 1995 dodge avenger ES it has a 2.5L H.O 24 valve V6 in it with a 4 speed automatic with O/D
sporty car if u ask me but ill never feel the same about it as i did my 85 chev monte carlo u never forget ur first car
mods i did to carla were:
-custom air filter--didnt hav a chrome one for the 2bbl carb i had on it so i cut around the edges of the frying pan lid and it did just as good u could notice the diffrence in hp kinda.
-im a canadian redneck n i went underneith my car on the driveway and took off the muffler and cat and straight piped it and put on a cheap glass pack cherrybomb on it it cost me 40 bucks as apposed to 100 at a mufflershop n it sounded RANK as well as a chrome tip
- i installed a tach
- i took off the hubcaps n put spinners on hahhaahhaahahah woo! but those got stolen so i obught sum black paint n tire shine n painted my rims n shined my tires n it looked RANK
- she had 2 alpine S series 5x7 soft covered tweeters in the back plus my deck
- new battery
- new stock distrubitor, champion wires and NGK platnium plugs
thats all i ever got to do to her i had a v8 swap planned for her n all that but cuz of some fucker thinkin hes king shit with his little accent e brakign around the corner...shes prolly in a cube right now off to ipsco
