Stopping Power
Well not the way I wanted to start this brake upgrade page. The new twin piston 4 wheel disc will be going on next month. (complete with pics for your dining and dancing pleasure) But last night I had the fun job of replacing a leaking rear drum brake cylinder attached to 20+ yr old rusty brake lines....yup a 1 hour job ended up taking all night, and required replacing the entire line and all connections. Damm i can't wait to be done with drum brakes.
If all goes as planned, i'll be taking her off the road within the next week. Then I'll be starting the process of prepping the body for paint...getting rid of a couple small rust spots, smoothing out some previous work and creating custom front valaince and bumpers. Gutting the interior...installing a rollbar, the battery box and if I can find one a fuel cell.
Then installing the new brakes and tranny. I will also be fabricating a front engine mount brace to deal with the soon to be new power increase.
