Well now that the engine swap is done it is time to move onto other projects with the car.
1)The first will be upgrading the brakes...with the new get up and go, I'll be needing some better stopping power.done soon
2)Better gripping tires. Done
3)Get a better intercooler and piping set-up.Done
4)Building the new main gauge cluster.
5)Better seats.(one in one to go)]
6)Finish off the bodywork and get her painted.
And with the exception of number 1 not necessarily in that order.
Well I've just picked up some new intercooler piping.

Well I was looking for a intercooler with the inlets and outlets on the same end of the tank, but got a great deal on this new unit.

So in a couple weeks I'll have it in along with a new rad.
Another new purchase, a battery box.

Picked up some more new performance toys today, a 3.5bar FPR, 30lb injectors and a Corrado rad. I'll be sending the injectors out for a cleaning and testing and then I'll be almost ready to upgrade the computer with the Stage4 chip and the underdrive pulley & belt for G-Lader...should be good for another 10-15hp. My aim right now is to get to the 200hp mark, then after that I'll have to upgrade the tranny if I want it to hold more power.
I think I'll also advance the timing just a bit more and roll back the cam gear to give me more HP and bring it down in the powerband a bit.
I'm looking to see if I can find a Corrado dash that is in good shape to swap into the car. I like the way the cluster panel wraps around infront of the driver, it would let me get the important gauges up in my sightline better.
Found one! it's very dusty, but the price was right. It looks brown in the pic but it is actually black and other than dusty in excellent shape.

Update Dec 2/07
Got the new rad, intercooler and plumbing installed this weekend. I had hoped to use the fan shrould that came with the Corrado rad but it interfered with the G-lader. So had to put the old fan back on.

The intercooler is mounted infront of the rad on the same angle, it is a tight fit. I made up and welded in hangers and bottom supports for it.

The piping comes out of the charger, up over the rad fan, around the rad and then runs under the intercooler until it reaches the other side. It then does a 180 into the intercooler. Then out and around up to the TB. It is all 2.5 inch piping up until the CO-pot where it reduces to 2.25 inchs the rest of the way to the TB.

The old vs the new

Update Dec 6/07
Well had a chance to open her up with the new intercooler and piping set-up. Lost about a pound of boost but the power is definately up, far more responsive and pulls alot harder. This must mean that the air coming into the motor is substancually cooler, which is a very good thing. Now just to get rid of the slight lag, which the stage 4 chip will do. But I'm not quite ready to put it in as it also involves changing all the injectors, the charger pulleys and the accesory belt. I may wait until spring to do this, or not. lol
Update Dec 8/07
I've just found myself and excellent deal on a complete 4 wheel 16v disc brake set-up. From the same guy who sold me the motor, and the best part is he will install it for me while I'm away over New Years...so better stopping power here I come. As well he's making 2 1/4 mandrel bent exhaust with a stainless steel resonator, my TT cat and a Vibrant flow through muffler. So now I'll a brand new exhaust from the header back.
Update Dec 11/07
Just put a deposit down on a kick ass tranny. With my new motor I'm laying down too much power for my old tired 8v tranny. It is only rated for 130hp and I've got close to 170hp at the flywheel now and once the stage4 package is installed i should be closer to 185-190hp. So by the end of Feb I'll have a the following in the car;
New rebuilt (0kms) CHE 2.0L 8V transmission with Quaife differential.
This is good for up to 300hp....hehe, now how to get the motor there...hehe.
Update Dec. 22/07
I just put an offer in on a pair of FK street track seats,

very comfortable and with great lateral support. Red and black ones, the blue and black just gives you a better idea of the design. Will know soon if it was accepted.
Update Jan. 14/08
Well I got the seats, they are in showroom like condition. Now I just need to fabricate some mounting brackets for them. New exhaust system is on the car, custom mandrel bent 2 1/4, Vibrant resonator, Vibrant flow thru muffler. Sweet sounding, mild under normal driving and monster sounding at WOT.
Update Jan. 22/08
Tonight I go to pick up a pair of Rocco front seat bases that I'll be modding to fit the new FK seats. I'm also going to take a look at a set of Dana 15" racing wheels, theses would allow me to run larger brakes which would be good, as the new brake system as not been installed yet so larger discs would be better. Currently I'm running 14" ROH rims.
Update Jan. 27/08
Well I finally got a chance to get some more work done on the car this weekend. Work other than fixing problems. I started to fabricate the new seat mounts and sliders for the FK seats. They are almost ready to be installed, just need to drill the holes for the bolts and give em a coat of paint. I also got the new rims, well new to me...

They will need to be stripped of paint and then sent in to be powder coated gloss black. Then I'll add some highlight colour that matches the cars colour....which I'm still trying to decide on.
Update Feb. 11/08
It took a bit of trial and error, fitting and re-fitting but I've finally got the new drivers seat in the car. Hugs nicely and makes cornering much better, now I can concentrate on turning the car and not on staying in place. I may make a few more minor adjustments to the seating position, but overall I'm happy. Next will be to get the passengers seat in. I've got a very slow leak in the drivers rear wheel brake cylinder which I'm hoping will hold out for another month until the new brake system goes on. I really do not want to put more money into the existing system as it will all be changed out, but if it gets any worse I will as a total brake failure would be a bad thing. Right now I have to top it up every 4-5days.
Update March 15/08
Snagged a super sweet deal this weekend, grabbed myself a set of Konig Sub zero rims wrapped in Yokohama Adven A38 street slicks. These are super sticky street track tires...luckly the Rocco will no longer be a daily driver, otherwise I'd chew through these too fast. But damm are they going to make one hell of a difference in handling.

So the Dana's that I'd picked up before will be cleaned up, given a fresh coat of paint and then maybe they will find a shard home on the Cabby.
Update April 1/08
Picked up an ISV bypass w/a CO-pot connection last night, along with some decent boost tubes. Now I can get rid of the last few pieces of old plastic tubing. As well on the drive out to get it with my buddy he was telling me about the new G-60 head he'd picked up that he is planning on P&Ping to within a inch of its life to give more power for his track car. So....his old head (only 2k on it)with a 3 angle valve job, new seals, guides and valves will soon be mine. This should definately help breathe some fresh life into my motor.
Update May 14/08
Last night I went out and picked up a pair of Euro bumpers, great weight savings and definately makes for a leaner sleeker look. Tonight i'll be picking up a set of Momo 4-point seatbelts and a brand new ISV valve. I also installed the Taylor battery box on the weekend, now I just need to source a decent sized Fuel cell.
Euro goodness
Front bumper still needs paint and to be hung straighter
The new rubber

Just short clip to give you an idea of how she sounds. Nothing illegal just a 60km to 100km run. If I get a chance before she goes to bed for the winter I'll grap a few more videos, maybe even one with WOT in 1st 2nd and 3rd.
The New Custom Strut Bar
Had some time over the holidays to do some more work on the beast, got together with a few buddies from SECO (Scirocco Enthusiast club of Ontario) to build a custom A1 G-60 front upper strut bar.

Me starting to weld up the main bar feet.

Test fitting and tacking the secondary bar.
The final product!
You can also see in the last two pictures the ISV bypass I've installed.
Update March 17/09
Picking up a Stage5 chip soon!
